Any Thoughts on how to Celebrate?

I'm hoping you all can help me with what you might want to see for my 2 year blogging celebration.

I was thinking of asking a few fellow bloggers and authors I've meet over the two years, and have started to really think of some very good online friends, to do some guest posts.  Now I was thinking about change, time, and online as the basing start point.  But then thought it might be boring.  You know talk about how things have changed with doing blogging, or what happens with time, the way you spend your time now, how did you come to being on line with blogs.... blah blah blah.  But I didn't know if YOU as a reader thought this would be interesting or not.

So, I was wondering what you thought would be fun to read for a celebration.  I don't want to bring the party down, I want to celebrate hardy.  See, I have the 2 year blogging birthday end of July, then my wedding anniversary end of July (we've been together about 14 years, married 9 years), then I have a birthday at the beginning of August (yeah, I don't feel like sharing that age at the moment as I don't remember with out calculating the alignment of the sun, moon, age of my son and my mother... you know it gets complicated).

And yes, when the time comes there will be a or a few giveaways to celebrate.  But can you help me with what your thoughts are?  And if any of you authors or bloggers out there would like to participate please let me know.  You can email me and we'll get the post up for you. :)

Thank you all for your help!

I think your ideas are great--talking about where bloggers came from, where they are now, where they see themselves two years from now. You could also do a "greatest hits" kind of thing, highlighting some of your favourite posts or whatever from the past two years.

And anything you need from me, Mel, just give me a shout--blog posts, prizes, general pimpage, whatever. I'm there, chica.

Yay, we're all turning 2 this summer!

Why don't you share your blogging insights? I'd love to know the origin of your blog and where you think it's going. That's always very enlightening to me.

Sounds like you have much to celebrate these coming months.

Congrats on your wedding anniversary of 14 years. Wow.

I think you should talk about funny blogging moments. :)

How about asking your blogger guests to participate in some of your daily memes, only with their 'Best Ever' or 'Most Favorite'? i.e. The Who? What? Where? of their favorite book. Or The book that they REALLY need to get into for Throwback Thursday. Etc., etc., etc...?

I am always up for a guest post :D or anything.

I like the comment above me. Like 5 books I think others should read..or make them all in one genre or something

Wow - two years! I'm in awe of you! :-)

I like the sound of all the above - how about a timeline of major blog moments over the last two years...? I'm a big fan of favourites lists whatever is on them!

And if you would like anything from over the pond - let me know! :)

Like Ryan said, there are many of us that started in July or August. You and Ryan in July, me in early August. We should have done a blogoversary hop! I'm going to be out of town on mine, but I will definitely be posting or doing something. Not sure what yet, as I'm broke and STILL haven't sent off the books from my last giveaway. Bad blogger, bad! Anyway, I think guest posts would be great. And you should choose a theme that you like best. It is your blog anniversary after all. =O) I would love to be a part of whatever you decide.

Ryan G - :) Oh yes. I never realized how many of us started at the same time. It's amazing. Aww, thank you. :) And you are on my list to email. ;) If it wasn't for you I'd not be here.

Aubrie - Oh thank you! Fun Blogging moments sounds like a great idea! I think I'm going to have to sit down this weekend and figure out what to do and what ones fit the category. :)

Rissatoo - You know I didn't think about that with the memes. :) Thank you! I might have to put some thought into it. :)

Blodeuedd - I'll definitely have to go back through all the posts and come up with something. :) And I'm going to have to email you on a post. ;) But I have to figure out what I'm doing. Maybe I can do that this weekend. Thank you!

Mel - Aw, thank you. :) And a time line. Hm, that is a great idea! I'm going to go back through my posts as well and pick out faves and all now. :) Thank you! And I will definitely let you know if I come up with some ideas for posts and all, for you to join in. :)

Michelle @ The True Book Addict - Wow. we have a few of us that fall in the same time line for starting. :) And I really like the idea of a blog birthday hop! That is a great idea! :) I'm going to have to go throught all the post and everything and narrow down what I'm going to do. :) Thank you!!!

Mflick1 - Hi! Oh, the best moments! That is a great idea! I have a few on the top of my head that I'll never forget. :) Hmm, I'm going to have to get those all pulled out too.

Melissa (Books&Things) lol. THank you! I know. I don't know what to do either! lol. But everyone here has given me some great ideas, so I think I can come up with something. But I have to think on it and putting it all together. Then do the post. I might want to get started on it now. lol. Thank you!

Okay, two things for when you're planning your blogging anniversary things:

1. I would like to extend an offer to interview you over at my blog, if you want. I'll just ask about blogging, reading, etc, and then pimp your site and celebrations.

2. The Evil League of Evil Writers would like to invite you to guest blog around the same time, to talk about evil writers/books from the perspective of a reader. We're always going on about the writing side over there, but it would be wonderful to have a whole post of your thoughts as a reader/book blogger.

The ideas in your post sounds like good ones and the ones in the comments sound great as well. I can't really think of anything else to add.

It's really funny to realize that almost all the bloggers that I regularly follow are celebrating 2 years now. It would be interesting to examine how blogging may have changed during these past two years.

And congratulations on your upcoming wedding anniversary. I'm celebrating my 11th anniversary next week. It's hard to believe how quickly the years have passed...

Skyla - Awww, Thank you! You know I can't say no, right. ;) I would love to do both! AND honored to do both! :) Thank you! That is so great and wonderful. And yes, I'm stumbling as I'm speechless. lol. Thank you! And yes is the answer.

Simcha - Thank you. Glad you like all the ideas. And thinking on blogging changing over the last 2 years would be a great idea too. I'll try to see if I can squeeze all these ideas into the post. ;) And I really am amazed at how many of us started at the same time. And how we found each other. But it has been fun in this group. :) And thank you on the congrats. Congratulations to you as well! 11th anniversary, that is great! Boy, do the years fly by so quickly. ;) Thank you!
