Sunday Post #6

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share new about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

~~~~~~~~~~
So...Easter had it's way with me and wore me out beyond belief.  I didn't get much scheduled and didn't get to visit like I enjoy.
My reading has slowed some as well.  I've started Camp NaNoWriMo and have got almost 5,000 words in on a novella, short story, that was to be 10,000 but by my goings now and what I have planned...might be about 15k to 18k.  We'll see.  But, I'm having fun! :) That's all that matters.
Other than that...it was a slow week around here with the holiday throwing me all out of sorts.
What's Happening in Books:
Current Read:
I'm...a bad reader.  I'm not sure what book is next on the stack and I'm really working at the word count to get through this story.
Current Podcast Book Listen:
The Dreamer's Thread by Starla Huchton
Finished Last Week:
Clockwork Mafia by Seleste DeLaney
Last Week on the Blog:
This week might be a little slower on cover reveals and extra posts.  I didn't have any time this weekend to work anything extra up.
Cover Reveals I've Missed (2) This is Fantasy style.
This Week to Come on the Blog:
The Weekly Posts.
I will be participating in Reverse Author Interviews from Book Munchies on Tuesday.
I'm.... not so sure yet what's coming this week.  I haven't had a chance to look over my reviews that are ready to go or the calendar.
Seven magnificent stories, ranging from science fiction to mystery, await you within.
The Case of the Bloodstone Dragon by G.L. Jackson
What follows is a raucous ride through a little known human and
dragon history, played out on the streets of New York City.
Unto the Breach by Jason Andrew
The Dragon of Sullivan Hall by Marian Allen
A dormitory full of fun loving female students, an angry red dragon with a litter full of hungry whelps, and a particular student of Irish descent. This
Egg Hunt by Jay Wilburn
A lonely smuggler must make decisions he never dreamt possible in the darkness of space to elude capture and protect his precious cargo of dragon eggs. When one of them hatches, it threatens to damage his ship. Can a person change enough to save a ship, a dragon, and himself?
The Clan by Troy Lambert
Dragons return to the earth and humanity enslaves them with the last remnants of technology of their dying race. Now the technology of old is fading. Will the dragons be able to rise again? Will the humans declare war, or will a peaceful solution be found? It all rests in the hands of an ancient dragon, and a
lowly shepherd and his clan.
Dragon Seeks a Wife by Sandra Graves
What happens when a dragon falls ill and is told he will die in a year and a day unless he finds his one true love? The only thing a dragon can do. He sets out on a quest to win the hand of the perfect mate for a dragon–the daughter of the king. Aided by a Quetzal bird sorcerer, he begins his quest. An old fashioned fairy tale with a Meso-American twist.
Darkness Taken by J.A. Campbell
Til and her dragon partner, Heliodor, complete the perfect Welcome Ceremony, but their joy is short lived. The Dark has slain a unicorn and taken her foal back to the Darklands. Can Til and Heliodor venture where none go and rescue the young unicorn?
Freebies:
I asked for this lovely swag pack from Untold Press.  And I requested a few extra packs, for giveaways. :)
Storybound by Marissa Burt
Goodreads Synopsis:
In the land of Story, children go to school to learn to be characters: a perfect Hero, a trusty Sidekick, even the most dastardly Villain. They take classes on Outdoor Experiential Questing and Backstory, while adults search for full-time character work in stories written just for them.
In our world, twelve-year-old Una Fairchild has always felt invisible. But all that changes when she stumbles upon a mysterious book buried deep in the basement of her school library, opens the cover, and suddenly finds herself transported to the magical land of Story.
But Story is not a perfect fairy tale. Una’s new friend Peter warns her about the grave danger she could face if anyone discovers her true identity. The devious Tale Keeper watches her every move. And there are whispers of a deadly secret that seems to revolve around Una herself....
With the timeless appeal of books like A Wrinkle in Time and the breathtaking action of Inkheart, Storybound has all the makings of a new classic. Brimming with fantastical creatures, magical adventure, and heart-stopping twists, Storybound will leave readers wishing they too could jump through the pages into this enchanting fairy-tale world.
A Bit of Bite by Cynthia Eden
Goodreads Synopsis:
A killer is stalking the streets of Crossroads, Mississippi, and it’s up to Sheriff Ava Dushaine to stop him. But when suspicion falls on werewolf alpha Julian Kasey—Ava’s ex-lover and the man who still haunts her dreams—Ava knows that she’ll either have to prove his innocence…or watch the whole town go up in flames.
Originally part of an Entangled anthology.
The Accidental Demon Slayer by Angie Fox
Goodreads Synopsis:
Newly anointed with demon-fighting powers and suddenly able to hear the thoughts of her hilarious Jack Russell terrier, a preschool teacher finds a whole new world of dark and dangerous, including a sexy shape-shifting griffin she's not entirely sure she can trust.
Slayer's Kiss by
Goodreads Synopsis:
When the past flies in your face, clip its wings.The Shadow Slayers, Book 1
Kara Reed is a supernatural failure. But where her magic falls short, her fists get the job done. The criminal element doesn’t stand a chance once she hits San Diego’s dark streets. When two smoking-hot tenants move in next door, she thinks her love life might finally be heating up. Just being near Gavin and Julian is enough to make her want to offer her body on a platter. Gavin and Julian know it’s only a matter of time before the truth comes out. They’re fallen angels sent to watch over the king’s daughter, one of the last females of her kind. Trouble is, she doesn’t seem to think she needs watching—unless they’re watching her shimmy out of her clothes. No matter how tempting her guardians, Kara’s not about to let anything stop her from tracking down a sadistic killer who carves into his victims and leaves them for dead. Even when she realizes her target may be the very scourge of heaven from which her angels swore to protect her… Warning: Contains a kick-ass heroine with a foul mouth, a kind heart and a raging libido, and two fallen angel warriors who wouldn’t have her any other way. Watch out for sex in the clouds, a magical island of hedonism and a love triangle that gives new meaning to the term “hot-wings”.
  8. Haven't been by in awhile. Hope all is well. Sounds like you're busy. I'm also doing Camp NaNo, but haven't started yet, of course. I only set a 15,000 word goal, just to get further into my novel. I'm going to host version 3 of my writing challenge the first two weeks in May so that will help me get more writing in. Good luck with getting your novella written.
    Love the ring!
