So, it's Monday... again...
How are you faring at the beginning of this week? Are you starting a new book or finishing one up?
Well, I've still got lots of pages to get through. Don't ask me what happened last week 'cuz I really don't know. I feel like I haven't gotten anywhere in the books this past week. That's awful. But I have big plans this week. Do I think I'll actually do it? No, not really. But I'm going to give it hell in the mean time.
Currently Reading:
Wanderlust by Ann Aguirre - Which I will finish this week for Thursdays chat.
Shadow's Lure by Jon Sprunk.
City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare - for a chat on Friday with friends.
Yep, hard to believe I'm hoping to finish all three of these books this week. Don't know if it will happen but I'm going to try like crazy.
To Come This Week:
Review of Wanderlust by Ann Aguirre (might be weekend but still part of this week)
Interview and BOOK GIVEAWAY with Sarah-Jane Lehoux ~ Thief
Last Week:
Books I finished:
Um, looks like none. Sorry.

Tales from the Archives - Five by Philippa Ballantine & Tee Morris
I did write a Flash Fiction Friday again. :) And this one is a continuation of prior weeks writing. If you would like to check it out, please click here to go over. And please leave comments if you like.
My WANT list...I've added 8 books last week. Yeah! :) Great stuff here. But I am trying to keep it easy on the want list.
Books Received:
Purchased:
Yes, I know I was on a book buying hiatus. Well, sometimes those hiatuses make you want to buy all the more. So my buying binge is still showing up as buying on line never shows up the next day. ;) So, now I'm back on the hiatus. (for now) as I do need to try to save some money.
I HAD to have this one after finishing the first book, Thief. Which I do hope you take advantage of the giveaway I have going on and go enter for the first book! And I can't wait to squeeze it into the reading order here.
Goodreads Synopsis:
Sometimes the past can't be forgotten. Sometimes the truth refuses to be buried. And sometimes the dead won't stay dead.
It began as a simple request: Journey to the Northern Jungles and bring a wayward son back to the safety of his farm and family before the racial tension that is building between humans and dark elves erupts into civil war. But life is never simple for Sevy, and she soon finds herself entangled in a bloody battle of good versus evil, love versus hate.
Old friends and enemies reunite, familial bonds are broken, and loyalty is tested. And in the midst of the steamy, sultry jungles, the ghosts of a serial killer's victims come out to play. Sevy, as petulant and irascible as ever, must overcome her personal demons in order to expose a madman and bring peace back to the kingdom. But just how much of her sanity must she sacrifice to help her friends? And how can she save anyone when she can't even save her own soul?
This one has a short story in a world I loved from the first step into it. And I love my anthology reads as well. So this was a given!
Goodreads Synopsis:
Do you like to Dance with Danger? Well now's your chance! Don't worry about things that go bump in the night; count yourself lucky if these fae give you that much warning. In the finest tradition of the original Bad-Ass Faeries, the twenty tales in this collection delve into the darkest corners, exploring every tough and terrifying aspect the legends of faeries ever claimed...and then some. Lose yourself in twisted tales of homicidal faerie clowns, one man's gladiatorial stand against Earth's overlords, and a desperate mother's confrontation with the fiercest pirates above the Seven Seas...not to mention dry land. Read on in fascinated horror as a faerwolf is born, and unwise parties-of-the-second-part come to rue deals made with a different kind of devil. Here is where you discover just how many faerie tales never even get a glimpse of Happily Ever After... Forget about misunderstood; these faeries are Just Plain Bad!
Winnings:
I won $20 gift card to spend on books from Kristi at The Book Faery . And yes. I know exactly what I want. :) So I can't wait to spend it. he he he. (Oh and this could be either good or bad for the book buying hiatus. I could go on wanting, getting more.)
Well, I'll be working hard to get through all the pages this week. Hoping to tackle the most I can.
How are you looking so far this week? Does it look like a good reading week for you?
Here's to wishing you all the best in words and pages.

The cover of Just Plain Bad really attracts me (though not the title so much). Kudos to you if you can finish 3 books this week. I was trying for 2 books but I am just relieved and exultant to have polished off Game of Thrones.
ReplyDeleteMy week is starting off busy and looking to be that way. I interviewed for a permanent ft job starting in Aug this morning and then went directly to a temp almost ft job directly afterwards. After working 20-25 hours a week for the past 7 years it's gonna be an adjustment lol.
ReplyDeleteI'm in the middle of reading one book and just started a second on my new guilty purchase that I bought Sunday. The new touch Nook! I love it! hehe so why I didn't buy books, I did buy a book related item.
StephanieD - I like the looks of Just Plain Bad too. :) Neat looking faery there. lol. Oh, I've got most of the one book done, and about half way on the second. But starting and finishing the third. So... will it work for me? Probably not, but I'm going to try. I'm hoping to use the weekend to my advantage, if possible. ;) Lol.
ReplyDeleteZia - Oh wow. Sounds like things are going good for you. Glad to hear your finding work to interview for. But it will be a change going full time. And on my!!! You got a Nook! Congrats! So glad you love it. :) I'm thinking about it, but haven't taken the leap yet. I think my husband is thinking of getting me an ereader for christmas too. :) We shall see. So glad you love it though! Great!
I just finished a book which I really enjoyed! I have to go write about it now. I'll be starting Wolfsbane now.
ReplyDeletecongraties on your winnings!

Hello Danielle Ackley-McPhail - Thank you for stopping by. I'm so glad I picked this one up and looking forward to reading it. I have to say since I read Skyla Dawn Cameron's book Bloodlines and enjoyed it I found this one through her, so have to give it a try. And all the stories here sound great! :) Thank you.
