Movie Thoughts On: Push

Push

Released:  2009

Rated:  PG-13

Genre:  Action, Sci-Fi, Thriller

Length:  111 mins = 1hr 51mins

Recommendation:  If you like superpowers, yeah.  It's neat to see.  But I wonder if there will be more.

Synopsis:
A group of young American ex-pats with telekinetic and clairvoyant abilities are hiding from a clandestine U.S. government agency.  They must utilize their different talents and band together for a final job enabling them to escape the agency forever.

My Thoughts and Summary:
Nick (Chris Evans) lives life making bets, that he seems to lose more than wins, ending up in debt to sharks.  Cassie (Dakota Fanning) mysteriously shows up after Nick's home is shaken down looking for a young female. Cassie talks Nick into helping her, find this young female in which she had a vision about taking a case that will bring down Division, the testing company that tests and tortures the special powered people to make a better and stronger usable person.

I enjoyed this one because it's an action science fiction movie.  There are guns, things blowing up, fighting, and mind control!  Dakota Fannings character has a goal, her mother is stuck on the inside of the Division, and wants to help her.  In the end Nick comes up with a great plan, that keeps us watching to see what is going on, and the slight of hand used.

I watched this one with the boys, and didn't realize we had seen it once before.  But the kid was excited to see I got this again, and watched it again with us announcing how much he enjoyed this movie the first time.  And noted close to the end, that it wasn't a good ending.  In that he meant there are a few ends left hanging out there, letting us wonder on the people in Division.  The husband agreed with the kid all around - enjoyed the movie and not the best of endings, very good but still wonder on a few loss ends.

    1. Melliane, I can see not getting into this one, very easily. It has a strange view of the camera too. And no need in spending precious reading time watching a movie that doesn't click with you. :)

    1. Blodeuedd, it was an ending for the story line, but left it open for potentially more movies. I just don't know if there will be more.
