Just for fun...movies & books

Have you ever seen a scene in a movie, television show, or anywhere, or seen a character that just fits perfect to what you imagine as a character or a scene in a book to be similar too?

Well, one struck me the other day.  I was sitting in a restaurant with my fellow workers, and a short clip appeared on one of the many television sets they had.  The second I saw that clip my mind raced right to a book I had read, and even heard the beginnings of as a podcast.

This scene fit wonderfully to what I visioned!  I was so excited. lol.  Sounds strange, but I was.

The scene, from Matrix: Reloaded.  Where Trinity races off on the Ducati, the motorcycle.  What book you ask. For me it fit Ciris from Cybrosis wonderfully when she takes off on her motorcycle.

Here is a clip, it's longer than I was looking for but it's the closest I can get to the scene of Trinity taking off on the motorcycle.

The book I relate it too:
Goodreads Synopsis:
For Agent Ciris, the mission should have been simple: get in, apprehend the target, get out. But when the simple snatch and grab goes horribly awry, the worlds first cyborg finds herself backed into a corner. At odds with her superiors, she becomes embroiled in two conspiracies — one intended to destroy her with a cybernetic virus that will neutralize the technology that keeps her alive, the other intended to keep hidden the untold secrets of her origin. With the walls closing in around her, Ciris becomes a rogue agent with no one to trust and only one objective — unravel the shrouds of secrecy before time runs out.

I have read and enjoyed this book.  You can read it, or listen to it as a complete podcast series.

If you are curious about my thoughts, you can read my review.

If you would like to listen to the podcast, you can stop by P.C. Haring's site, or download through iTunes on you iPod, iPad, or iPhone.  To listen is FREE!

  1. That's interesting! Hmm, I don't think so actually. However, I do it ALL the time with songs! They remind me SO much of certain scenes, characters... you name it. I always connect them to something I read, lol.
