There are so many amazing books already on the shelves and new ones coming out.
For a list of books yet to be released I'm looking to get, you can also look on my right Sidebar at the ever growing list titled Desired Reads - just scroll down. Of course there are tones of other new books to come out that are amazing as well, but these ones are part of series I have already started or for one reason or another caught my eye (and haven't seen much on other blogs yet). But I will highlight one here each week.
(mentioned in order of Release Date then Alphabetical if there are more than one book coming out on the same date.)
Next Book Is...
Wise Man's Fear
By: Patrick Rothfuss
Due Out: March 1, 2011
This is one book that has been anticipated with great anxiousness by many. So many fell in love with the first book and the writing style of Patrick Rothfuss. The second book of the Kingkiller Chronicles trilogy will be out soon. I don't know what to say about the first book. It's like two tales in one book. I want to know what happens to the teller of the story in the dangerous time he is currently living in AND I want to know what happens in his life story he is telling. So many great things in this book! And the writing style... well, its like music and poetry rolled into one.

Day Two: The Wise Man's Fear.
"There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man."
An escalating rivalry with a powerful member of the nobility forces Kvothe to leave the University and seek his fortune abroad. Adrift, penniless, and alone, he travels to Vintas, where he quickly becomes entangled in the politics of courtly society. While attempting to curry favor with a powerful noble, Kvothe discovers an assassination attempt, comes into conflict with a rival arcanist, and leads a group of mercenaries into the wild, in an attempt to solve the mystery of who (or what) is waylaying travelers on the King's road.
All the while, Kvothe searches for answers, attempting to uncover the truth about the mysterious Amyr, the Chandrian, and the death of his parents. Along the way, Kvothe is put on trial by the legendary Adem mercenaries, forced to reclaim the honor of the Edema Ruh, and travels into the Fae realm. There he meets Felurian, the faerie woman no man can resist, and who no man has ever survived. Under her tutelage, Kvothe learns much about true magic and the ways of women.

In The Wise Man's Fear Kvothe takes his first steps on the path of the hero and learns how difficult life can be when a man becomes a legend in his own time.
The next book I'm looking forward to is Karen Marie Moning's ShadowFever.
ReplyDeleteIs it Tuesday yet???
:)
I love the title for this book. It also sounds very interesting. Hmm... I might have to add this one to my wishlist!
ReplyDeleteLONGEST Paperback book since OUTLANDER that is still on my bookshelf and still want to read the second book also as Rothfuss has one heck of a good series going!
ReplyDeletehope you get this one when it releases Melissa, and also hope it is as good as book 1 because kind of like with other authors who make us wait a while it has been 3 cotton-picking years already!!!!
jackie >_<
The first book was awesome. I am really looking forward to how he continues the tale in the second. :)
ReplyDeleteI am so sad cos I did not enjoy book 1 at all :( I tried to figure out why cos I should have liked it. But it might have been to character driven for me...whatever that means
ReplyDeleteMe too! I wish I could get a review copy of this book because it doesn't look like it's going to be cheap, but that seems unlikely. Perhaps I'll splurge on it after all though because I have been looking forward to reading it for a long time now.
ReplyDeleteI don't really remember the first book (I read it right after it came out long before I knew about book blogs so I have no idea if that was also before it started getting so much buzz). I have so many books on my stack that I will probably wait a while before reading this because I want to reread the first book. So its a good thing I don't buy hardback since it will take another year before the paperback is out.
ReplyDeleteRissatoo - :) Tuesday's coming. :) I've heard a bunch of readers are looking forward to ShadowFever. Must be a really good series. Hope you enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteMelissa (Books&Things) - :) Glad you like the sounds of this one. The are really great fantasy reads. :) But, you will definitely have to read the first book though. ;)
Jackie B - LOL! It is a huge book. And a great read. I'm so glad you enjoyed the first book. I didn't know about the book when it first came out, so its been about a year to a year and a half since I read it. But many have waited the three years. Crazy!
Melissa Buell - Glad you enjoyed the first book and looking forward to this one as well. :) They need to make many many copies for when it hits the shelves. ;) Thank you for stopping by~
Blodeuedd - I have heard of a few people that didn't like the first book. So don't be sad as you are not alone. And you are allowed to not like it, thats why there are so many different books out there. :) Thanks for stopping by!
Simcha - Oh yeah. I didn't think about that. It will be an expensive book when it comes out. Hmmm, now wonder if I can wait until paperback to get it. I'll have to see where I am at that time. Thanks for stopping by and hope you enjoy it. :)
Wonderbunny - You know there are many people in the same boat. Their should be a reread somewhere for the first book to help refresh everyone's mind, before the second one comes out. I do hope you do enjoy it when you do get it. :)
