How are you faring in reading at the beginning of this week? Are you starting a new book or finishing one up?
Well, I'm taking a short break so this will probably be a short post. But the moving is going great! I am still pushing to get my one small book shelf in my den so I can at least put up my books to review and a few small things I want out. We still have many totes and boxes in the other house and it is snowing! Well, we have a bad habit of moving at the wrong time of year and it always snows for us. :D Oh well... as for reading... sorry folks not much here. Been busy with this moving stuff. But I am working on Bone Gods by Caitlin Kittredge for the Thursday chat with Robyn from The Bookoholic Zone. I'm not all that far into it yet, but I'm enjoying it and ready to start hiding in the small pantry with a book light. ;D But its one of those weeks.
Have you joined us in our chat for Demon Bound by Caitlin Kittredge? If not, CLICK HERE.
As for my WANT list... I added 5 books! For someone that wasn't online much this past week, that is something amazing. :) Thank you all!
Purchased:
Well, I went to the store on Tuesday as it was a huge release day. And I bought one new release for the chat on Thursday, and then I went to the used book store for gifts (and found something I wanted too).
Pete Caldecott is trying to survive in Black London without Jack Winter, her teacher and closest friend. After Jack was turned into a demon, he went to live far out of reach...in hell. But for Pete, surviving is no easy matter. The Black is rife with turf wars between mages and necromancers, the witch-hunting Order of the Malleus has resurfaced, and the gods themselves seem to be at each other's throats. Then Jack reappears, as the head of hell's army, and Pete has to choose between Jack, and her duties as a Weir--which demand she kill him to save the world from certain destruction...
When Henry Atherton arrives at the house of eccentric old Mr. Fogarty, he comes upon crown prince Pyrgus Malvae, who has escaped the Faerie realm, where the Faeries of the Night want to kill him. Mr. Fogarty and Henry decide to help the prince return home. It's a complex situation, involving an evil demon, two avaricious glue factory owners, and Lord Hairstreak, leader of the Faeries of the Night, each with a personal agenda that will lead to taking over the realm. A subplot (Henry realizes that his mother, not his father, is having an affair with his father's secretary) is totally unnecessary, and there are discrepancies in the story and some awkwardness to slow things down. Still, there's enough solid adventure in the Faerie realm to keep readers on the edge of their seats.
So, how are you faring this week? Does it look like a good reading week?
I don't know about me, but I hope the best for all of you. Here's to you having a great week in words and pages! Back to the grind for me. :) Hope to be back on full time later this week. :)

I had a great reading week, and this week looks promising! Hope you enjoy yours!!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you were moving! Either I thought you already moved or did you move before? Ahhh, my brain is mush! Well, I'm moving too...this weekend. We just decided last week to give up the ghost on the house and we're moving into a two bedroom apartment. Talk about a downsize! We're either going to be foreclosed or doing a quick sale. We'll see what happens. It's bad, but then it's good at the same time because at least we're getting out from under this house which is a money pit...LOL!
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone ever join you in Monday Beginnings? I kind of like the way you combine what you're reading and what you received/purchased in books all in one post. Sometimes I get tired of Mailbox Monday. Would you mind if I do a Monday Beginnings post, if I credit it back to you?
You should join us for TuesBookTalk this month. We're reading Charles Dickens Christmas Books and tomorrow night we're reading A Christmas Carol. We miss you and Robyn!
Take care and don't knock yourself out with the move!
Hey honey!!! Ohh, I am glad you updated me on the moving. I was wondering how things were going for you guys!!
ReplyDeleteI do hope you a fast unpacking, so those beautiful babies (the books) could come out to play and be read!! HEHEHE!!!
Hugs to you honey and I will be praying for you!!! Sweet hugs!
Hope you are having some fun besides work and moving. Hopefully your reading schedule will open wide up quickly!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear that your move is going well. That's so exciting that you have a house! I hope everything continued to go smoothly and that all your books and book shelves will easily makes themselves at home in your new place.
ReplyDeleteLover of Romance - Hi! Thank you for stopping by and commenting. And thank you, hope you have a wonderful week as well! :)
ReplyDeleteMichelle @ The True Book Addict - Hey! I do hope all goes well for you on the move. Our neighbors are trying to do a quick sale as well. I'm not sure what they are going to do, not many looking at houses here at the moment. Oh, and I know about the money pit homes. ;D Hope all turns around for you all. No one else does the Monday's Beginnings. But since you asked I went and made a linky thingy and if you would like to link up that would be great! I'm glad you like the idea. :) I try combining the stuff as I don't usually get many books as I'm a slow reader. But like to share everything. Now I have to take the time to make a pic to put on top. :D I really wanted to join in on the chat Tuesday night, but we were still moving. So I haven't got much reading done. Stinks. But live happens. Robyn and I miss you all too. I'm hoping to get into a book with you all here soon. Take care and hope all goes great for you.
Cecile Smutty Hussy! Hey hon! hope you are well. I snuck on here at work to say hi to everyone quickly. :D I finally got those babies into the new house yesterday. They are warming up nicely. ;D Thank you so much for stopping by! Hugs to you.
Melissa (Books&Things) - Well, we did do loads of shopping for the new house too. Which was fun. :D But I am hoping to getting back to reading here soon. My husband is off the rest of the week to try to get the rest of the stuff in, but I'm back to work now. :( I'd love to stay home now. Loads of room and the girls, kid in school, there really is so much I could fill my time with. But have to buy books some how. :D
Simcha - Thank you! I just need to get many more bookshelves now. ;) I hope we get settled in and such so my husband can make me some shelves. At least he has mentioned he will. I think in a way he wants too. So I have to be patient. But all will come in time. At least the books are in the new house and easily accessible. :D
