Blog Book Chat (28) Finished!

We have finished Blue-Blooded Vamp by Jaye Wells in one swoop here.  It was definitely a book hard to stop it.

If you have finished this book, do join in on the chat.  Anything you bring up in the comments, we will talk about.

WARNING:  There will be spoilers in the Comments, and in Questions.

So to get us started somewhere, Robyn and I have thought up a few questions...

Robyn's Questions:
1.)  Now that we hit the last book.  Were there any questions left unanswered that you wish were answered?
2.)  What was your reaction to Tristan?  What about his attitude towards her?
3.)  Maisie was a surprise.  Thoughts?

Melissa's Questions:
1.)  Do you think the end could have worked if the rules where reversed with the sisters?
2.)  What did you think of the tests at each gate?
3.)  What about the apples Adam took from the Bloodlands?  What will ever come of those?
4.)  Your thoughts on Lilith?

  1. I have to start off with saying Jaye did an AMAZING job with this finale! Goodness, everyone came back. Whether be in memory or really here, they are all back! The whole series comes into play here, for fear and for conclusion. I can't praise how well done this is!

  2. Maisie was a little of a surprise. I kept looking for her, and I had a feeling it had to do with both of them coming together...the double tattoos kind of had me there. But it was great to see her.

    1. I was surprised. I didn't think she would come back. That caught me off guard.

    2. When Sabina went to go to see the lords below, I wondered if she would see Maisie again. Especially when it was mentioned she would have to go through the witch/warlock land, and vampire land. I wasn't sure where Maisie would be found. I was afraid she would be with the vampires. But this ending surprised me a little more.

I also had a feeling some time before that it would be both the sisters, but that thought was nixed when Maisie died. So this was a great way to end it, with both worlds. Cool!

  3. I did find myself very irritated with Tristan for a good bit of the book. I was mad at him for the way he treated Sabina. It did seem to me he was treating her crappy because of her vampire side, and raised that way. But, that was partly his fault and his family's. But then to learn of his affair! Dang, he is two faced, but then realized it had nothing to do with the vampire side of her, but the fact he thought he was tricked into fathering her and the pain of not having his daughters.

But glad he kinda came around in the end.

    1. I wanted to slap Tristan a few times. No, I take that back. A lot, haha.

    2. LOL! Tristan was a little self centered and very sure he was right...hmm, wonder where Sabina got some of her attitude from, other than the vampire stubbornness. lol.

    3. Yeah, Sabina didn't just get her attitude from her vampire side, haha.

    1. Hey, don't worry about it. It's taken me over a week to get here myself. lol. Hope you had a great time with your sister.

  5. Okay now that I have more time, haha.

I thought the tests were very interesting. After she lost her mage powers I figured she would be rid of her vampire soon after.

It was interesting to see her as a human.

    1. I had a feeling, after losing her magic and seeing the vision as a blonde that it would be her vampire powers to go next as well. I was surprised that Sabina didn't see that coming. I think she wrote off that vision to easily.

And it was nice to see her little friend again. That was a surprise for me. I loved how everyone came back here...in one form or another. And if not present, then mentioned like Stix the owl.

    2. I figured she would lose her vampire but at the same time, I thought hmm, how would she fight?

  6. Those apples? I'm not sure what will become of them. And I know we should because why else would she write that scene? Maybe for Sabina in the future.

    1. I'm really stuck on those apples! I wonder if there will be a short story, or if this is something to come back on in the future. Maybe Giguhl will have his own story and they could be used. I don't know! I always seem to find a part and get stuck on it. lol!

    2. I would love if we got a short story of Sabina and Adam. Even Giguhl. :)

Maybe the apples are just one of those things that makes you wonder. What will ever become of the apples?

The only other thing I can think of is, eventually maybe as Adam gets older and knows he can't stay young forever. Sabina will have the option? I have no clue, haha.

  7. I really like the outcome of the Chosen. It brought the twins back together. Maisie might be dead but it's great they can rule together.

    1. I liked the bringing together as well. And I never thought of the Chosen ruling over the dead lands too. I always thought the dark races would be those alive. But I don't remember it being mentioned about the death lands for the dark races. Or really a layout of there to try and connect that to the prophecy. But I guess I should have. As Sabina's first kill in the series did come back, and the spirit of her mother and everything that showed up. But I just seemed to forget about the dead.

And that Maisie, the one of magic and life, is the one to rule over the dead. While Sabina, the one who lived with death, rules the living. That is an appropriate choice. It gives the ruling party a different view of what needs to be done. I do like that.

    2. If the roles had been switched. I wonder how Sabina would have handled it.

    1. Cherry, I would be very curious to see what you think of the story when you read it. :) I've really liked Sabina, although there are some who think she's rude but I enjoyed her for that reason too. :)
