Monday's Beginnings (12)

This is the beginning of a new week!

So, I am wondering:

Where you are in your books or are you starting a new book for the new week? The beginning of the week always seems to be a great time to start anew. To me it seems to be the way Monday goes is a sign of how the week will follow. Have you been able to get much reading time in today? Or are you going to be rushed all week to get everything into the short 24 hour day?

I am still adding numerous books to my reading list. This week I have picked up TWELVE books. Yes, Twelve! It is hard to believe, and I am not even caught up with reading all your posts. I also have a series I would like to add but I am not sure how many books are in the series, Cirque Du Freak. Since we went to see the movie I would like to start reading this series. I just googled it and it looks like it is twelve books itself. I do have to say much of my Christmas list this year is going to consist of books, which you all have contributed to. So thank you all! This is still a wonderous thing! You are all helping to keep me out of trouble and these wonderful authors in work. I am kind of trying to make notes of books to read but the must, must reads are on the top of the list (that is what list these books are on).

I finished two books this past week. One is reviewed alread and up, Avempartha, the second one, Canticle, is still running around in my head. I will have the review coming up when my head clears a little. (There is so much detail and happenings.) I am currently in a big discussion of this book over at Barnes and Nobles forums. Then, we as a family went to see Cirque Du Freak: Vampires Assistant and enjoyed it very much. My review for Cirque Du Freak is also posted here. I am now reading Bauchelain and Korbal Broach by Steven Erikson, this book is on my right sidebar. I tried to get started with this over the weekend but have not got far. I am going to blog and try to read some blogs for a little tonight along with my discussion over at Barnes and Nobles then try to read for about an hour before bed. So not much getting done here lately with the many things of live.

Now... this leaves us with one question left... Where are you?

  2. I am in London, following Charles Dickens on his quest to find a man named Drood

  3. Where am I? Having a break from my latest read, thinking should I carry on reading or stop? A dilemma because the book was sent to me by a friend who loves the author's works and thought I'd really enjoy it - how little she knows my taste, it's full of swearing and sex, not my thing at all.

  4. Sheila - you have had a long trip. I think I would have to rest first them get back into reading. Hope you had a wonderful time.

Deb - London huh? Sounds great. Charles Dickens - always good.

Petty Witter - I am not one for much of the swearing and sex in my books either. I like to just get to what is happening in the book and know the characters and world, but those two things aren't on the top on my list in a book. I even avoid books because of these.

  5. Hey Melissa, finally figured out how to follow a blog! Where am I? I am torn between all of the books I have to read, the novel I am writing, the school work I need to get done, the housework I need to do, the time I want to spend with kids/grandkids, the movies I want to watch......need I say more? It seems 24 hours is not enough time in a day anymore! I second the sex content in books, a little is ok, too much can make me skip whole sections of books. I read two series with enormous amounts of graphic sex, if I didn't love the characters/storylines, I would quit the series!

  6. Tracy! Great to see you around and about. Wow, sounds as you have a plate full as well. I keep running out of time on everything and so much gets put to the back burner. I wish it was the laundry and housework on the back burner, but they are the must does. There really needs to be more time in a day for fun. You know if we had just one more hour everyone would try to fill it with work. I think we need one more hour for relaxation and fun. I hear you on the sex sections of books, I have to agree 100%.

Looking forward to seeing you around the boards and blogs!

  7. I agree with you Tracy...24 hours is absuolutely NOT enough time in a day. I am desperately trying to get ANYWHERE in my writing (a paranormal romance novel), but between working full-time, reading, bolggin and trying to get enough sleep...there seems to be no time left for writing.

On another note, I must say that I rather enjoy sex in my novels. Lol. Not in excessive amounts of course...but a little some some from time to time makes me happy. LMAO.
