AEon Flux
Released: 2005
Rated: PG-13
Genre: Science Fiction Action
Recommendation: Yeah, for action with assassins and the neat graphics. Definitely Sci Fi elements, but good story and action.
Synopsis:
Aeon Flux is a mysterious assassin working for the Monicans, a group of rebels trying to overthrow the government. When she is sent on a mission to kill the Chairman, a whole new mystery is found.
My Thoughts and Summary:
This movie has been around for a while and I was just a little curious about this science fiction movie. I know there is a game based off this movie as well, which I'm curious about as well. Then Netflix suggested it to me, reminding of it. So, being a kick arse assassin movie I suggested it to the husband and we turned it on.
This is a science fiction movie where the people live in a city with some science technology. They are the only place left in the world with humans, the rest of the world has grown over with nature hundreds of years after a virus killed off everyone else. The people are trying to make change and over take the Chairman who is stopping them... Or is he? Aeon Flux the best in her field is sent on the mission, but when she sees the Chairman things click in her mind. Something is wrong, or right. She learns what is happening and goes on about her own mission.
I liked this one. The graphics were neat. It's kind of the same basic storyline of assassin not killing her assigned mission, but what makes the movie is the why and the how. I liked the take on the people as well. Interesting. That airship you see in the trailer, yeah it's important. ;)
The movie had great use of new and smart tricks of the trade for an assassin. There was a high number of body count too. ;) I liked Aeon's fellow worker as she had implants...hands as feet. It was just neat. I was mesmerized with the moves Aeon made, very game like. I really liked her character.
My husbands response after watching was, "That was different." But I didn't take it as a bad thing. I think he enjoyed it. One to kick back and just watch, taking in the sights.
