Throwback Thursday (24)

Let's talk about those books already on the shelves, yours or the stores.

I have a post for books I'm looking forward to coming out;

Looking Forward To...
But what about all those wonderful books that are ALREADY on the shelves.

Whether it be on your shelf waiting to be read or on the shelves in the stores waiting for you to give it a good home.

So, I thought I would share a book a week that is just waiting for me to travel through it's world.

Now... where do I start? Lets go by Published Date on the books...

This Week:

This is another Young Adult book I won in a package of many.  I seem to like the sounds of the kids in boarding schools or such and all sorts of trouble comes, or happens.  I do look forward to reading this one here one day.

Goodreads Synopsis:
Bianca wants to escape.

She's been uprooted from her small hometown and enrolled at Evernight Academy, an eerie Gothic boarding school where the students are somehow too perfect: smart, sleek, and almost predatory. Bianca knows she doesn't fit in.

Then she meets Lucas. He's not the "Evernight type" either, and he likes it that way. Lucas ignores the rules, stands up to the snobs, and warns Bianca to be careful—even when it comes to caring about him.

"I couldn't stand it if they took it out on you," he tells Bianca, "and eventually they would."

But the connection between Bianca and Lucas can't be denied. Bianca will risk anything to be with Lucas, but dark secrets are fated to tear them apart . . . and to make Bianca question everything she's ever believed.

  4. This is a fun series, you need to read it! The last book was meh though (series burnout LOL). There is also a spinoff coming out next year on one of the characters.

  5. I've heard great things about the series (from Mel). It's on my one day list. I'd really like to get into my Vampire Academy books (I think I have the whole set) but can't seem to find the time...

  6. Blodeuedd - Yeah, I was thinking the boarding schools where done a lot for a while, but I still am curious and would like to read it one of these days. :)

Anachronist - :D I'm going to have to do that for you. I just don't know when I'll be able to get to it just yes. ;) Thank you!

Mflick1 - Oh, so glad to see you enjoyed this one. :) I do look forward to when I can get to it. Thank you!

Mel (He Followed Me Home) - Oh wow. So glad to hear you enjoyed it and the series too. (well except the last book being meh.) Thank you!

Jackie - Oh, and the Vampire Academy, yeah. I need to get to that one as well. It's rough trying to get to all these amazing books. Thanks!

  7. Do authors just set their novels in boarding schools so that they don't have to deal with parental units?

    Still...I'm likin' the cover.

  8. Read this one last year, and really disliked it. It was a fairly uninspired plot with quite a few logical holes, and even as far as the writing style went, it left something to be desired. At least, that was my opinion. I'm also known to be really picky about any YA novel that involves romance as a central theme, so Your Mileage May Vary.

  9. StephanieD - You know that is a very good question about the partents issue. It kind of takes the parents being good or bad ones out to the picture to focus on the main characters. Hmmm.. Glad you like the cover. :)

Melissa (Books&Things) - lol. You need to read loads of books, just like me. ;D

Bibliotropic - Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the book. I've actually heard a few others felt the same way. I do think one of these days I'll give it a try to see. :) Thank you!
