Mythical Monday (9)

It seems there are many books based on or influenced by Myths and Mythological Beings.

There are so many different Mythology and Mythological Beings recorded. Some are very popular and well known, others not so much. There are many similar beings, yet different depending on the culture it’s based in.  The definition of Myth covers about anything in the Urban Fantasy/Fantasy realm to me.

I’ve invited authors to share briefly the Mythological being or Myth that influenced their character(s) or story, or what their character(s) are based on influencing their books.  Hosting here, one author and being or myth per week.

This week we have:
Urban Fantasy (Adult & Young Adult) author Jennifer Estep

Jennifer Estep has a young adult series I thought would fit this meme perfectly.  Lots of great mythology in this series.

Jennifer Estep is tied up with deadlines for her amazing books, but I still wanted to highlight her books as well.  Jennifer was gracious to offer the fourth book in her young adult Mythos Academy series, Crimson Frost as a gift to one commenter.

Would you like to win a signed copy of this book and some book marks?  I'm going to make this easy.

Open Internationally.  (I'll be mailing, but I want to invite everyone to play.)
Giveaway Ends:  Tuesday May 7, 2013 11:59 pm EST

a Rafflecopter giveaway

If you would like to to purchase the previous three books:

If you've read all the books through Crimson Frost, maybe you need 4.5 novella:

Or would like to pre-order Midnight Frost (#5)

  3. I hadn't seen this series before. But I like the sound of all mythological creatures in one place, maybe it's a great way to know them, I don't know much about them. I know it might not be the same but it reminds me of Halloween town lol, the Disney movie

  11. I love this series. I just downloaded Dark Frost onto my nook. I was reading a lot of vampire books when I discovered this series and it was a very refreshing change. I love the idea of an academy of mythological warriors. I like what the Valkyries can do but the Spartans are my favorite. Or should I saw a particular Spartan in my favorite!

  12. I enjoy mythology in general, and the Viking and Greek mythology is particularly interesting. I haven't started this series yet, but I have the first three books waiting on my TBR shelf for me to read. I need to get started since I'm getting really far behind. :D

  13. I haven't had the chance to read this series yet. But I've been DYING to read it. It's on my TBR and wish list and so looking forward to reading the series. I'm not sure "what Mythological part of the series I've been drawn to" yet. But I do LOVE reading about any kind of Mythological things. I was always drawn to it since I was in grade school and always looked for books about this. I would LOVE to win this book and start reading the series!!! Thank you so much for the chance to win this amazing book!!!

  14. I was never really a fan of mythology but after my friend, Stephi, told me to read these books I really like them now. My favorite part is Nike, the godess of victory and Loki, the god they have to get rid of. Great giveaway by the way.
