Just for Fun...with Books and Music (4)

Every once in a while a song comes along that fits a book I've read/reading.  This one brought to mind an old tv series and a book series.

How many of you watched Firefly?  Yes, I was late at watching but I got through it all and the movie.  Loved it!

Alright, you all got a little excited there at the mention of...*whispers* Firefly. *giggle*  That was fun.

Okay, on we go.  I read the second book in Seleste deLaney's Badlands series, Clockwork Mafia, and in a way it reminded me of... Firefly.  I'll share more about Clockwork Mafia in my review to post in two weeks for it's release.

Back to the show, the books, and the music...  This song reminded me from the instruments and personality of Firefly.  And in turn Seleste deLaney's Badlands series.  So, I mentioned to Seleste that if she had a bar fight in this series, the song totally would work as her theme song for the series.  I'm not going to tell you the answer she gave me.

The song is a fit!  I can hear the beginning of this tune playing on the dirigible as we fly in on Dark Hawk to the Badlands.  And the rest of the song fits the characters...

The song:

Bloody Good Barfight Song by Carbon Leaf

Seleste deLaney's books in a world of it's own I LOOOVE and reminds me a touch of the series we all miss:

**Badlands is out and available now.  Clockwork Mafia will be released April 29, 2013.

  1. This sort of thing happens to me all the time. I'll be listening to my giant playlist on Random, or listening to the radio, and suddenly a song will come on and it'll put me in the mindset of a book I've recently read or an episode of a show I've watched. Also because I RP, it often happens that a song will come on that fits a situation various characters had recently gone through. It's always amusing when that happens!

    1. Bibliotropic, I love when this happens too. It's not something often, but when the books and songs click, it really sticks with me. LOL! Thank you greatly for stopping!

    1. Blodeuedd, then you need Badlands. It's similar, yet different. But I didn't love the series because of Firefly, I was late to the viewing there, but yea, now with the second story, I get the feel. :) Thank you!

    1. Rivie Bleu, it's strange with songs/books. It just happens. And not often for me, but when it does I have to share it. lol. And, until a few months ago I'd not seen Firefly either. It's good though. :)

    2. Lol, it never happens to me. My little cousin is still amazed that I can't remember the songs from the movies.

  4. I saw one episode of Firefly and went to work to ask them about it and found out that so many people love that show. So far, it's the only episode that I've seen of it, but I hope to watch them. Jaclyn @ JC's Book Haven.

    1. Jaclyn Canada, I just watched Firefly a few months ago (brother loaned me the cds) and I couldn't figure out the attraction it had for everyone. But I kept watching and found I really enjoyed the worlds they went to and the characters depth and history. Was very well done. Hope you get to watch all of them and the movie. :)
