Blog Book Chat (12)...

Here we are! Are you feeling like a little Green?  Green-Eyed Demon by Jaye Wells that is. ;) I hope many of you will join us in this chat.

I'm thrilled to finally be posting this post.  There is so much to talk about with this great book.  So many happenings, and thoughts for me.

If you have not read the book, please be warned there will be SPOILERS in the comments, and maybe considered so in the starting questions too.

Here are a few questions to get us started, but we will chat on just about anything you throw in the mix in the comments.

Robyn's Questions:
1.)  Did you keep waiting for Adam to find out the truth about Slade?
2.)  No more owl.  Are you disappointed?  We had gotten so use to seeing it and now it's no longer there.
3.)  Were you surprised to see David?  He seemed such a minor character and he comes back.  Do you think he'll be mentioned again?
4.)  Was I the only one who wanted to scream, NOOOOOOOOOOO, when Maisie killed Adam but let out a sigh of relief in the end?  Or maybe I was the only one who wanted to write Jay and go, why did you do that ???????? lol

Melissa's Questions:
1.)  There seems to be a threat of Cain coming back for Sabina.  Do you think he will?
2.)  What do you think of the evolution of Sabina's character from the beginning of the books until now?
3.)  How about Lilith herself sending David to help Sabina.  Did you see her being involved?  Your thoughts on her helping Sabina?

  1. I definitely think we haven't seen the last of Cain. It's just going to be a question of when and how.

He definitely won't be a happy camper when he sees Sabrina. I'm curious to know what he wants with her? Wouldn't he want the same thing with Maisie? What makes her different?

  2. I'm also wondering what Lilith wants with Sabrina. Why did she send David? Does she have something up her sleeve?

  3. So glad you asked about wanting the same thing from Maisie! I was thinking on this. I think Sabina has the blend of powers they are looking for and Maisie doesn't. Sabina has the dark powers of death and life and I don't think Maisie has that. And that is what Cain and Lilith I think could want. :)

  4. I wonder if Sabina is more Lilith's child than they realize because of her potential abilities. She could be very very dangerous. And she channeled Lilith there at the end of the book. :) Some serious stuff in those powers! She has some strong powers and she can be very powerful if she worked at it.

  5. Oooo, my stomach flips when I think about Adam finding out about Slade! I'm afraid it's going to come up in a future book and start to drive a wedge between my to favorite characters. Oh, it will probably slip out in the future some time. I just hope Adam can get over it fast so they can be together.

She really wanted Adam but still was in the mind set that she couldn't be with him, the mage and vampire thing from her parents.

  6. Maybe I've read too many books, lol. But do you think Sabrina was meant to be the evil twin and Maisie, the good twin? Although after what Maisie did, I wonder if it could switch.

  7. I have a feeling Adam will find out when Slade makes his return. When he does, I'll be biting my nails waiting for Adam to find out.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Here is a question. Are we to assume her father is still dead? I still feel like he'll play a role later in her life. Isn't that where she got her dark powers from?

  9. I think that Adam is totally gonna find out about Slade, and it’s gonna be drama, I mean how can Sabina think that she can keep that secret forever??
Also, I think Sabina’s dad is gonna pop up at some point, he was only vanished, no body=probably not dead…
    anyhow, that’s my thoughts…..

  10. Robyn - I do but I don't get the feeling Sabina is Maisie's evil opposite twin. I do get the feeling they are opposites but not necessarily evil. But she was raised a lot rougher than Maisie, which could let us feeling that way.

But speaking of Maisie feeding from Adam (nearly killing him) And killing Grandma dearest. She is really going to have some issues to over come with this knowledge. She was raised so different from Sabina and she is going to have some serious issues with herself to get through it. And maybe it will change her dramatically for a while too! That sweet fun loving Maisie might be lost for a while.

  11. Heather (BookSavvyBabe) Thank you for joining in with us! :)

Oh I think the Slade thing is going to come out as well. :) I just wish it never happened. lol. But It is going to be a big drama happening and maybe push them apart again. I'm not looking forward to it (okay, so I might be to see how they handle it). ;)

And I have to agree with Heather on Daddy too. Yes, Robyn. He Has to have a part to play later in life here. I want to meet him.

I wonder if he is lost somewhere with Cain or Lilith with his strong powers as well. Maybe they needed him to do something and that is where he has gone. With Cain maybe... or Lilith and that is why Cain needs Sabina to counter him... Okay, so I'm really stretching out here on the ideas. ;)

  12. Hey all, Just popping in to say hi. Reading the comments so far, I am squirming to talk about what's coming. Some of you have touched on major issues that are coming for Sabina and the gang. Unfortunately, I can't spill the beans just yet. But rest assured Silver-Tongued Devil (Jan. 2012) has lots of surprises for everyone. ;)

  13. Jaye! Thank you for stopping by! :) It's great to have you by. I have to say I really enjoyed this book. And loved the growth of the characters. We will definitely be looking forward to Silver-Tongued Devil. Is it January yet? Hope you stop back by as we are just getting started with the chat. Who knows what all we could throw out there. ;) Thank you!

  14. Robyn yes there is at some point in my opinion as well going to be fallout from hooking up with Slade, and as far as the owl am glad to see it gone! That thing gave me the creeps...

Melissa the evolution of Sabina's character from the beginning until now has been steady and interesting to watch... I believe that perhaps not only are her powers going to keep evolving and gaining strength but when we finally find out exactly why she is "The Chosen" it will not be because of her capacity for evil but because of her capacity to choose good over evil.. She is the dark side of her twin but since the twist of events in this one the scales are a little more balanced after Maisie's actions....

I hope that we get all the questions answered in Silver-Tongued Devil but have a feeling it will just lead to more questions by the ending... I love series books, they can be frustrating to wait for the next one but so worth it when you can lose yourself in the characters world for a few hours again!

  15. Hi Jackie B! Thank you for stopping by to chat! :)

Oh that owl! Yes, I'm good with it being gone now too. :) But they will find another way to spy on Sabina, if need be. ;) But he was a pesky bugger too. ;) lol

It really hit me the evolution that Sabina made as a character. And the growth of her being as well. She really came from a loner to one wanting the family and friends around and needing them. Which is the key, needing and wanting.

She really is going to grow greatly now with the magical side. And yes she has the death and evil side to her but she knows right and good. And with the friends she has they will help her through.

Oh I have to say this is one series that is well worth the wait. ;) Thankyou!

  16. I was surprised with David showing up, but I completely followed the reasoning behind why David was the one sent. And actually really liked that surprise. It was like making a full circle to the beginning. And I loved that feeling.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Oh and when Maisie feed on Adam! I was so scared and really thought Adam was died too. And I DID NOT want that to happen as I love him! I was so scared and I picked up the speedy pace I was reading at and couldn't stop until the end.

I have to say I'm happy with the way this book went. I got the adventure, action, and love I wanted. I felt I had to work for it, but got it. lol. And now with getting what I want, I want even more! Hard to believe right. lol

  18. Oh I had to laugh at the zombie scene. lol. It wasn't funny but it was as it was nothing anyone expected and Zen running with her tail between her legs. ;D She had a point as she is human. But it was great to see the strength of Sabina's powers here. Nice.

  19. I was thinking more about David. Should we trust him? She did kill him and if he is working with Lilith? I have a feeling we'll see him again, maybe he'll be Lilith's messenger.

    ReplyDelete
  20. When Adam supposedly died. I freaked out. I was like, seriously?!!!!!

I really thought it would be his ghost when we saw him again.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I really liked the changes in Sabine. She was wearing on me at the start of this book and I thought for sure it would be the last one I read (I was only iffy on the previous book). I liked how she is growing as a character.

When Adam died I was pissed! I think I read that part twice to make sure I wasn't reading it wrong. Seriously? How could she kill him off just when things were getting good between Sabina and him. Very glad he came back.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Robyn good question about David. I think we can trust him on what he said here. But will he pop up again somewhere as a ghost? I don't know what the rules are in the ghostly world here. I hope he comes back with some more great information! And some clues for Sabina. :)

  23. I have to comment on the Adam dying thing. A lot of people have come up to me and said they threw the book across the room on that part. :) I'm thrilled people have become so invested in these characters. Sometimes it's hard to keep torturing them, but it can also be fun.

Also? The zombie scene is my favorite scene in the book. Well, that and the scene when they first meet Erron. ;)

  24. Robyn's Questions:
1.) Did you keep waiting for Adam to find out the truth about Slade?LOL yes!
2.) No more owl. Are you disappointed? We had gotten so use to seeing it and now it's no longer there. You know I kinda am. I had grown used to that little spy

4.) Was I the only one who wanted to scream, NOOOOOOOOOOO, when Maisie killed Adam but let out a sigh of relief in the end? Or maybe I was the only one who wanted to write Jay and go, why did you do that ???????? lolOh no you were not the only one! I was like uh No Way!!!!

    Melissa's Questions:
1.) There seems to be a threat of Cain coming back for Sabina. Do you think he will? I would bet on it.
2.) What do you think of the evolution of Sabina's character from the beginning of the books until now? I think she is growing into a wonderful character, though I do love her bitchy side.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Oh and I was thinking Lilith need both Maisie and Sabina to do what she intended to do.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Waonderbunny, Oh, I think I almost cried. lol. I sooooo didn't want to loss Adam. But was so happy when he pulled through.

I do have to say I've been very impressed with Sabina's growth from day one. I saw some in The Mage in Black, toward the end. But really started to see a change in the short story Violet Tendencies. Saw she was trying to change and interact better with her friends. But this book really brought her a 180. Now if she can grow that more. :)

  27. Jaye, I do think that's a complement. Well, maybe a little back handed, but a complement. :) To have readers care that much for the character says a LOT about the writing. I know was was heart broken and couldn't believe it.

My first thought was, "the series is over, how can we (Sabine and Me) come back from that!" Then when Adam made it I was so releaved and ready to dig into the next book.

And I too have to say I loved the zombie meeting. Oh yes! When we meet Erron! How could I forget! I laughed out loud about the midget! LOL. That was all to much!

  28. Zia - So glad to have you by! :) Hope you enjoyed the read. You know I think there has to be more with Maisie. She is a powerful vampitch too. And I think she has to have a huge part in something. But it seems as Sabina was the center of it all. Im curious to learn more about Maisie and see what she might be.

  29. Oh my! I have to mention Pussy Willow! I LOOOOOVED the scene where she first danced! I sat here at my desk reading and laughing. Then when she throw the feathered boa at Adam. Hitting him in the FACE!! LOL! I just about died laughing. Oh god that was good. And When she asked Adam his thoughts on the dance. Oh my! Just teasing with the poor man! The whole scene was amazing. And I loved it. I actually read it two or three times to laugh at it and enjoy it.

  30. I'm curious to know more about the ghost world now.

  31. Sabrina has definitely grown and I definitely don't think she's done. There is still a lot of growing up to do, I think. She has a sister to take care of, especially now that Maisie is going through something. I hope Maisie lets her in.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I was thinking if Adam was really dead, Sabrina would definitely get upset and she would turn a little to her old self. Not forever, just out of anger, kind of thing.

Happy it didn't come to that :).

    ReplyDelete
  33. How could we forget Pussy Willow!!! Loved her!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Pussy Willow was awesome! Adored her!

  35. The Pussy Willow scene was excellent.

The zombies were pretty awesome too. I have a sister in law that is going to love that part when she reads it.

  36. Robyn, it could be possible that we could see more of the ghosts in the future. Sabina was feeling the presences in the grave yard and I think it was the ghost of David. But that doesn't mean there wheren't others around as she could feel the ground vibrating. ;)

Oh I think Maisie is going to have a hard time letting any one in. But I'm wondering with Sabina which way it will go. Will she be mad at her for letting her do what she did to granny. Or will she let Sabina's experiences helper her through this horrible time. I'm thinking she is going with the first. And what she did to Adam with being like siblings. That one would be hard to get over. And would she ever trust herself again!

  37. Oh I loved Pussy Willow's show. but I really felt bad for her when she made the complete conversion over. That broke my heart. It was like the fun was sucked out of him/her when he was attacked. I hated that. (only because I felt so bad for him)

  38. Zia, wonderBunny

Oh Pussy Willow's scene was just amazing! I was really happy with Jays ability to tell it in a quick way that didn't take from the scene at all. I laughed and reread just to laugh again.

Oh I hope your sister in law loves the book WonderBunny.

  39. I just hope Maisie doesn't do anything crazy in the next book. I would hate to see her get into trouble. At least Sabina would be there for her.:)

I really could see Maisie backing away from Sabina. She would be afraid she would hurt her twin. You know she is going to feel guilty about Adam, even though he is still alive.
