Looking Forward To...(111)

There are so many amazing books already on the shelves and new ones coming out.

For a list of books yet to be released I'm looking to get, you can also look on my right Sidebar at the ever growing list titled Desired Reads - just scroll down. Of course there are tones of other new books to come out that are amazing as well, but these ones are part of series I have already started or for one reason or another caught my eye (and haven't seen much on other blogs yet). But I will highlight one here each week.

(mentioned in order of Release Date then Alphabetical if there are more than one book coming out on the same date.)

Next Book Is...

Incarnation
By:  Emma Cornwall
Due Out:  September 18, 2012

So I've been caught by the steampunk bug.  This book sounds like a great blend of steampunk, Victorian age, and vampires.  It sounds like it's got a tad of a twist to the vampire theme, and I'm curious and want to see what all this book has to offer.

Goodreads Synopsis:
In the steampunk world of Victorian London, a beautiful vampire seeks out the author of Dracula–to set the record straight . . . If one is to believe Bram Stoker’s legendary vampire tale, Lucy Weston is Dracula’s most wanton creation, a sexual creature of the night who preys on innocent boys. But the real-life Lucy is nothing like her fictional counterpart—and she demands to know why the Victorian author deliberately lied. With Stoker’s reluctant help, she’s determined to track down the very fiend who transformed her—from the sensual underworld where humans vie to become vampires, to a hidden cell beneath a temple to madness, and finally into the glittering Crystal Palace where death reigns supreme.

Haunted by fragmentary memories of her lost life and love, Lucy must battle her thirst for blood as she struggles to stop a catastrophic war that will doom vampires and humans alike. Ultimately, she must make a choice that illuminates for her—and for us—what it means to be human.

  2. I'd love to get my hands on a copy of this as well - I love Dracula so any spin-off or variation intrigues me. That's one of the reason I love vampire books!

    1. Oh Alexia! We are going to have to work on the steampunk bug for you. :) And yes, the reputation repair is what caught my eye here. Although, I did hear from one early review that there's not much steampunk in this story.

  9. Wow, I love that cover (or maybe it's just the dress). Not sure of the vampire story though, but I'm willing to give it a try.

    1. Simcha, I like the cover too. That dress sticks out nicely, and I like the gears in the back on top. I'm hearing a few mixed thoughts on this one, people like but a few bugs to it. :) So we shall see.
