Recommendation: If you enjoyed The Transporter 2 with Jason, you will enjoy this one. Classic Jason Statham style.
Synopsis:
A former elite agent (Statham) takes on a two-tier mission: rescue a Chinese girl who has been abducted by the Triads, then use a highly desired safe combination to outwit the Russian Mafia, corrupt NYC officials, and the Triads themselves.
My Thoughts and Summary:
Two people who are at very bad points in their life, find they save each other. Luke is a powerful boxer, but one bad match and he loses his pregnant wife when the Russian mafia losses heavily and makes a cruel visit. The let him live but threaten him with any one he becomes close to, they will slit their throats. A young girl found in her school to be brilliant with math and numbers, memorizes things in seconds, is found by the Chinese mafia (triad), brought to the states to help with counting. The girl, Mei, lives this life for a while, Luke lives as a bum, until one day when she is kidnapped by the Russians and she gets away, and Luke is in the subway station ready to end his misery when he saves Mei. Now they are on the run together, taking down the Russians, the Chinese, and the corrupted cops that are playing both sides of the coin.
This was the kids’ movie pick for his birthday. Yes, it’s rated R but it’s R for all violence and language, which with everything the kids see these days, this wasn’t to bad.
By now you should know we love our
action packed movies. And Jason Statham
always delivers, and this movie delivers as expected. We are Statham fans, all of us. This movie is a typical Jason Statham movie, and he is the reason it was picked. Guns, car chases, fighting, and fighting.
I liked learning the history and
secrets of Jason’s character. He is much
more than just a simple boxer. He was
once a cop, and so much more. Jason’s
character is a cunning kind of man, and not a dumb as everyone wants to think
he is.
To me this movie had more threads and
deep story line than I had expected. It
was one to think on in the end, as I connected everyone.
The kid enjoyed the movie very much,
thought it was a very good pick. The
husband enjoyed the movie, but still likes Transporter 2 and thinks that’s
Jason Statham’s best movie ever. I
really enjoyed this one as there were connections everywhere, and Jason’s
character was a surprise to me in the end as there was more to him than I
expected.
Very good movie. One for the theaters? Um, maybe wait until DVD with the prices, but
a very good watch.
I think that my fave movie of his was The Italian Job. I did like the Transporter movies as well. Will have to check out this one.
