Synopsis:
Astrid sees the shape of things to come, and Cog, Augustus and Maeve explore the ruins of the city.  Will they survive the trek?

My Thoughts & Summary:
Astrid sets off a grenade and fights the attacking beasts.  Cog, Augustus and Maeve have come to the city, where it looks like a blast zone.  They are freezing from the water they trod through to get out of the sea, and looking for safe shelter.  What Cog finds will surprise her most, but with things happening so fast she will not be able to let the emotions run free.

This episode was one where I just listened.  I was amazed by the descriptions and details of Astrid's fight with the beasts.  Then when Cog, Augustus, and Maeve come to town, the details of the destruction and what remains in the ruin of the town and corpses.  Then!  Then there is the letter with the gift for Cog.  This is so unexpected, and heart melting.  Oh, I am curious to see what happens with Cog and Darren, or Wyland.

I can't wait to get through the remaining episodes!

Augustus

Format:  Podcast; 26 minutes

Episode:  34 of 37

Synopsis:
We learn the contents of the weapons cashe, and Crust makes an appearance.  What will he do?

My Thoughts & Summary:
Augustus is shocked by the weapons, and feels in his rightful place with his mechanical again.  Jonathan intercedes in Auduns dreams, playing with Maeves life line and trying to break Audun down.  But in doing so he goes back to a time where Maeve and Augustus are fighting the dragon, and sees Isabelle.  Jonathan gets lost in going through Isabelle's life line, and brings up an important question.  Crust still has a contract he needs to full fill or he will be indebted to Nicholas, to kill Maeve Manners.

Cog notes that Augustus has changed, for the good, and maybe with the help of Maeve?  I'm glad Augustus is feeling comfortable again, because things are going to get crazy, I just have a feeling.

Jonathan's trek down memory lane with Isabelle is sad.  I'm glad he is finally seeing all the open times he missed and the glances from Isabelle.  But is it a little to late?  He could get lost with Isabelle's memory, here in his mind, but he questions why no prophet told of Isabelle's happenings, even Audun.  But he realized Audun to advantage of him with what happened to Isabelle, and he would have his revenge on Audun.

Oh Maeve!  Crust doesn't seem to be completely bad, here.  He just has to complete his contract for the wonder of what Nicholas would have him do if he didn't.  We do learn he is one ancient being.

I have to see Jonathan surface again, and Maeve has to make it!  On to the next episode!

Elena, before she became Cog

Format:  Podcast; 51 minutes

Episode:  35 of 37

Synopsis:
Crust's actions lead to a surprise confrontation.  Will it be the death of another Agent?

My Thoughts & Summary:
Crust has full filled his contract, but with doing so Cog has to call on Darren to help, as she recognized the alchemy used on Maeve.  Darren makes a dangerous attempt to save Maeve.  Cog stands guard to receive a visit from her brother, and learns what he has been doing, and plans to do.  Jonathan is still working to weaken Audun, and learns much more about himself.

This is one long, yet short episode.  I got lost in just listening, and not made many notes.  We learn so much here with Nicholas and Cog talking, then Cog and Darren's discussion.  Cog questions her brother as to why he never came for her all those years ago, and learns where he has been and what he has seen over the many years Cog was sleeping.  All starts to make sense to her now, Jonathan's visions and what has been happening.  And things turn sour between Cog and Nicholas, and they start to fight.  Cog has a surprise when she brings her sword down against Nicholas' weapon, the chain.

We learn why Wylan did what he did to Elena all those centuries ago.  And that he possesses a knowledge that was desired by her father.  But, Cog has spent to many years mad and furious at Wylan that she can not forgive him, not now.

Jonathan makes a nice discovery about himself, and some of Audun as well.  This could get very interesting as he's not responding as Audun had suspected he would.
