Throwback Thursday (8)

Let's talk about those books already on the shelves, yours or the stores.

I have a post for books I'm looking forward to coming out;
Looking Forward To...

But what about all those wonderful books that are ALREADY on the shelves?
Whether it be on your shelf waiting to be read or on the shelves in the stores waiting for you to give it a good home.

So, I thought I would share a book a week that is just waiting for me to travel through it's world.

Now... where do I start?  Lets go by Published Date on the books...

This Week:

This is one book I bought and have heard amazing things of this fantasy read and the author.  But I just haven't found the time to dig in yet.  It's a rather large book of 644 pages and will take some time for me to get through.  I definitely need several days to just sit down and read this one.  And I really want to get into it.

Goodreads Synopsis:
Drawing on the most powerful mythic archetypes, this master epic of magic, politics, war--and the power of love and hate--is a rich, beautifully written, multidimensional work. The few surviving inhabitants of the destroyed land of Tigana bond together in a secret battle to release their homeland's curse and gain their freedom.

  2. I haven't read this one, either but it looks pretty good.

Sometimes I shy away from books that deal with politics, etc... I think we get enough of that in the real world.

This is a good meme. My shelves are overflowing with books that I need to read and so is my Kindle. It's not that I don't want to read them it's just that something else always seems to come along, LOL!

Thanks for posting another great meme!

    Have a great day, Melissa!

  5. Melissa (Books&Things) - I'm mesmerized by this cover every time I look at it and don't know why. It kind of looks steampunkish too.

Kristi The Book Faery - Oh, I love these kinds of reads but usually they take me so long to get through because I read them so much slower to get everything going on. Oh, I'm so glad you like the meme. :) You are welcome to do a post if you would like. :) Just link back to here and through the comments here and hopefully others will follow. Hope you have a great day!

Library Snake - Thank you for stopping by! I'll definitely be stopping over tonight. :) And so glad you like the sounds of the book.

Mel - Hi! So glad youlike the sounds of this book. :) Oh and Jonathan Strange! Oh, I'll be over here shortly. :) Thanks for linking up!

  6. Oo I love this idea! I have way too many books languishing on my shelves that keep getting passed by for the shiny new ones.

I didn't used to be big on high fantasy, but I'm starting to get more into it! This sounds like a really interesting read! Thanks for bringing it to my attention!

  8. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this book. It was the fourth Kay book I read and it cemented my love for his writing style. The first three books were The Finovar Tapestry trilogy.

I don't think I've read anything by him I didn't fall in love with. My other two favorites are The Lions of Al-Rassan and A Song For Arbonne.
