BRANDON SANDERSON has another Mistborn Novel being released!!! YES!!! Guess what's on my DESIRED list now.
Due Out: November 2011
(in Hardcover & ebook)
Amazing look here! And I'm so thrilled to read the synopsis. There is a little bit of a twist to the Mistborn thinking here. Just check out the Synopsis! If you've not read the Mistborn Trilogy, this synopsis might be a touch spoilerish for you, just thought I'd warn you. :)Three hundred years after the events of the Mistborn trilogy, Scadrial is on the verge of modernity, with railroads to supplement the canals, electric lighting in the streets and the homes of the wealthy, and the first steel-framed skyscrapers racing for the clouds.
Kelsier, Vin, Elend, Sazed, Spook, and the rest are now part of history—or religion. Yet even as science and technology are reaching new heights, the old magics of Allomancy and Feruchemy continue to play a role in this reborn world. Out in the frontier lands known as the Roughs, they are crucial tools for the brave men and women attempting to establish order and justice.
One such is Waxillium Ladrian, a rare Twinborn who can Push on metals with his Allomancy and use Feruchemy to become lighter or heavier at will. After twenty years in the Roughs, Wax has been forced by family tragedy to return to the metropolis of Elendel. Now he must reluctantly put away his guns and assume the duties and dignity incumbent upon the head of a noble house. Or so he thinks, until he learns the hard way that the mansions and elegant tree-lined streets of the city can be even more dangerous than the dusty plains of the Roughs.
I kind of find it hard to believe that after the world was almost erased, nothing stood then just after 200 years the world was already up to this...but still want to read ;)
ReplyDeleteHm... I'm curious. I think I need to read the Mistborn series.
ReplyDeleteBlodeuedd - Hmmm, you know what I didn't think about it that way. 300 years doesn't sound that long. Maybe he'll talk about the growth they did in the world after all that happened. Maybe there were hidden scrolls or something with all this stuff that moved the process faster. And since the overlord was ruling he held it all back thinking he was doing good for the world... Okay, sorry, I'm getting carried away with the mind again. I have a habit of doing that from time to time. ;) Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteMelissa (Books & Things) - Ooohhhh, you DEFINITELY NEED to read the Mistborn series! I loved the trilogy. It was AMAZING with the "magic" system he had ~ metals. :) It was very ingenious. lol. Did I sell you yet?
I need to read this series!
ReplyDeleteMelissa, go ahead and post your hop. I did mine on the phone with Heather from Buried in Books and it was harder, google docs wasn't working great for me so I've got a huge gap between my form and my list of other bloggers. I tried to fix it and just gave up!
A lot are posting early and actually if any have theirs posted I am too, LOL. Plus, it's easier to see if people are doing what you asked. That sounds bad but hey, when you're doing a giveaway they should. I do!
I'm glad you're feeling better, I am, too. Tomorrow should be a much better day :o]
Have fun with the Hop and I'll talk to you soon!
Love this cover! =D
