Monday's Beginnings (42)

Here we are again... another Monday.

How are you faring in reading at the beginning of this week?  Are you starting a new book or finishing one up?

Well, I think I got back into my reading niche.  I got the review for The Warded Man by Peter V. Brett up last week.  Finished reading Wild Hunt by Margaret Ronald.  Finished reading Unholy Ghosts by Stacia Kane in two days, over the weekend and just finished the short read Blood Soup by Kelly A Harmon - both of which I will work on the reviews for and get up soon.  I am looking forward to reading the next read, Shadow's Son by Jon Sprunk.

I stayed in for lunch today at work, and plan on doing so for most of the week.  I am hoping this will get me some of the extra reading time I am missing.

As for my Wishlist... I have adden 9 books this past week.  The number is starting to grow again.  The authors should be pleased to hear I want many of these books.

Books Received this Week:

Purchased:
I purchased this book after hearing about it on the web and reading the first chapter on Tor.com.  I am hoping to be able to finish this read by the end of the week.

Synopsis from back of book:
In the holy city of Othir, treachery and corruption lurk at the end of every street, just the place for a freelance assassin with no loyalties and few scruples.  Caim makes his living on the edge of a blade, but when a routine job goes south, he is thrust into the middle of an insidious plot.  Pitted against crooked law men, rival killers, and sorcery from the Other Side, his only allies are Josephine, the socialite daughter of his last target, and Kit, a guardian spirit no one else can see.  In this fight for his life, Caim only trusts his knives and his insticts, but they won't be enough when his quest for justice leads him from Othir's hazardous back alleys to its shining corridors of power.  To unmask a conspiracy at the heart of the empire, he must claim his birthright as the Shadow's Son...

So, now to you... How are you faring this week so far?  Does it look like a great reading week for you?

Here's to hoping you have a great week in words and pages.

  1. Well now that I'm back in town I'm trying to get caught up on my reviews, I still need to write about 7 of them. Plus I'm reading like a fiend right now so that's causing the review stack to keep growing. Have a great week kiddo and hopefully I will get to talk to you on twitter sometime soon.

  2. Ryan - Glad to hear you are back in town. :) Hope your work trip went well. Wow, you are on a reading roll. I think I was in a slump for a short while, I loved the books I was reading but couldn't seem to read through them fast enough for me. Now I feel like I am back in the game. We'll see how long it lasts. :) Looking forward to reading all the reviews you have coming up! I am going to have to take an evening off and get on twitter to say hello to everyone. It has been a while and it seems we have been crazy here with the change of the weather. :)
