Monday's Beginnings (17)

This is the beginning of a new week!

So, I am wondering:

How are you fareing in reading your books or are you starting a new book for the new week? The beginning of the week always seems to be a great time to start anew. To me it seems to be the way Monday goes is a sign of how the week will follow. Have you been able to get much reading time in today? Or are you going to be rushed all week to get everything into the short 24 hour day?

I am still adding books to my reading list. This week I have picked up three books. So, thank you all! This is still a wonderous thing! You are all helping to keep me out of trouble and these wonderful authors in work. I am kind of trying to make notes of books to read but the must, must reads are on the top of the list (that is what list these books are on).

I have finished one book this past week, Tempest Rising by Nicole Peeler. I loved it, you should scroll down and read my review. I have now started a new book for this week, Scorched by Sharon Ashwood. Now, with all the shopping and wrapping and prepping for the holiday coming my reading time has been reduced even more than normal. Along with this being a short week I don't think I will be able to get this book done. :( But I am going to give it the good old college try! This read, also, is for a discussion over at Barnes and Nobles, so I will be taking my notes with my stickies. LOL.

As for today, I did not get any reading done, yet. So this being said I am most definitely going to set at least an hour aside this evening before bed to get more reading in.

So, I am really wondering if this is going to be a good week for reading - or not.

Now... this leaves us with one question left...

How does it look for your reading progress to fare this week?

  1. Not much reading for me this week, either. Happy Holidays & have a great new year!

  2. I have been having a very off reading week. I hate it! Hopefully I will get back on track soon

  3. I'm in the same boat Deb is in, not reading a lot recently....I think it's because my brain doesn't want to function after work. I'm reading The Fire by Katherine Neville, The Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Chrsite, and The Complete Stories by Flannery O'Connor. The O'Connor book may take a while as it's too serious for where my head is at right now.

  4. Like nearly everyone else not a lot of reading is being done just now. A shame as I know after Friday my TBR pile will be even higher.

  5. This week is interesting- I just finished a great PNR, I am starting a much anticipated m/m, and I will end the week with a UF and an author I am unfamiliar with. Variety is good!

  6. Pixie13 - Thanks for stopping by! Have yourself happy holidays and an awesome New Year!

Deb - I am sorry to say but I am glad to hear others are having an off time with reading too, it kind of makes me feel better. I am not alone... I am hoping to get back on track here soon too.

Ryan - Wow, you have quite a list to be working on. That is amazing with the crazy schedule for the season too. Maybe when everything calms down O'Connors book will read easier.

  7. Petty Witter - I think that is what I think I am afraid of. lol. The tbr stack is going to grow increasingly this weekend. Not a bad thing, but just not enough time to get to them all.

Mandi - Sounds like you have a great variety for the week. Mixing it up always helps keep me going too. Reading new authors is great as well. I like to read something new. Enjoy your reads!

  8. I've actually got quite a bit of reading done this week so far, probably due to all the buses I've been taking lately. I think I'm going to be taking a short reprieve from fantasy reading to start on my growing pile of non-genre books that have been gathering dust by my bedside. I got Water for Elephants months ago but have not had any time to even crack it open. I also borrowed Twenties Girl by Sophia Kinsella, who I can always count on for a fun read, and I got The Sex Lives of Cannibals from the Blogger Gift Exchange, which I'm very eager to start on. I think I need to add another day to my week just so I can have more reading time.
