Monday's Beginnings (172)
So, it's Monday AND Holiday season...
My weekend wasn't all it was cracked up to be. We went to get the Christmas tree, which was fun...mostly. It was a lot of time in the car this year, which is more than normal as we made a detour. Yes, we cut our own tree. Quality, fun family time. And it's good time. But once we got home, I cooked dinner and did the lights, I always do the lights, but it seemed no one else was into the mood. So that's where I stopped. Went to be early on a Saturday night. Yes, earlier than I do on a week day - you know, when I have to get up the next day. Then spent Sunday a little bummed out, feeling no one was in the Christmas mood. I did get decorations out for on the mantle and around the rooms, but the tree still has no bulbs on it. I just don't feel it. The tree will probably be bulbless for several days now that the week has started. Maybe I'll feel the spirit soon... *crickets*
But, needless to say I didn't get much reading done with all this running around.

I did not do a Flash Fiction Friday. This Holiday season is going to drive me nuts, I can feel it. Doing these might help with that. But I'm afraid I'm running out of time quickly. I'm hoping to get back to the groove in 2013.
My WANT List...I've added...wait. That doesn't seem right. Nothing? Hmm, I don't know what I've been doing then.

The battle at the Scorched Plains is over and the people of Teleria can finally begin the long process of healing. Life at Lore's Haven is slowly beginning to return to normal. Jason Bennett is just glad that his part in Taleth's prophecy is finally over...
...or so he thinks.
Unbeknownst to Jason and the Circle, the godlike Altered, led by Regor the Shadow Lord, have other plans. After a millennia of being considered nothing more than myth and legend by most of the inhabitants, the Altered have decided to set aside the Covenant and reclaim their place as rulers of Teleria. Nor has the Shadow Lord forgotten his encounter with Jason on the Scorched Plains. But now, with the Altered in agreement about the future of Teleria, Regor has a free hand to do as he pleases without interference.
Once again, Jason finds his life at risk as he and the Loremasters try to figure out how to defeat the most powerful beings on the planet. But as he tries to avoid being found by Regor, Jason will learn things that will have him questioning the actions of the Circle, Nyala, and even Lenai.
He is determined to find the answers...
...if he can just live long enough.

Totally feeling you on the lack of spirit this year. I'm trying but forcing it doesn't help matters...it still feels forced. Cie la vie...chin up my friend. We'll BOTH get there. ^_^
ReplyDeleteGMR, I'm shamed to say, but I'm so glad to hear I'm not the only one with lack of spirit this year. :) We'll get through, that is true. :) Thank you, dear!
DeleteI so mean to do a flash but yes time is running away from me
ReplyDeleteBlodeuedd, it's crazy! I really want to get back into it, but so much running. *sigh* A good thing to start at the new year. :)
DeleteThis year is a very grinchmas for me.
ReplyDeleteI really like the sound of a Clockwork Christmas. Maybe that will help you get into the spirit. :)
Oh Melissa (B&T) I'm sorry to say but I'm glad I'm not alone with the grinchmas feel. And yes, this is a little romance antho I'm really enjoying. :) Hope you get to try it one day.
DeleteI just wanted to come by and say hi. Hope you are off to a great week and that the Christmas plans aren't overwhelming you yet.
ReplyDeleteOh Ryan! So glad to see you. :) I was just thinking about you. Hope you are well as well. And the same to you my friend. :)
DeleteI am looking forward to many of the review. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Jennifer Bielman! :) Hope to please with the reviews coming. :)
DeleteSorry to hear that you're not in the Christmas spirit yet. Some years we don't even get a tree, so at least you're one up on me there. Like Melissa, it's a bit of a Grinchmas for me too. Maybe some Christmas music will help?
ReplyDeleteThank you Alexia. I'll have to try the music. I know if we had just a little of the white stuff floating around outside, I might feel better. But...it just feels off this year. *sigh* Thank you dear.
DeleteAww, I will tell you as my kids got older, they lost their enthusiasm for decorating the tree. so we started putting the tree up and leaving the box of ornaments and over the Thanksgiving weekend every time any of us walked by we added a bobble and by Sunday it was done, and the one who put the last ornament on was excited. LOL
ReplyDeleteOh Kimba that sounds like a great idea with the bulbs. I have to say the kid put a few boxes on the tree last night, and the topper. He was so proud of himself with the topper as he had to get the trimmers and cut the top of the tree. lol. That helped some. :) Thank you!!
