Blog Book Chat (19) FINAL STOP!

Eeep!  We are finished with The Hour of Dust and Ashes by Kelly Gay! *searching frantically for next book*

And all ready to chat away.  We will have to help sooth each other in waiting for the next book.

So, have you read it?  Well join in with us to chat away on where you think we will go and what we will do next.

**Warning!  If you have not read the book, there WILL BE SPOILERS in the questions and comments.

As usual we have a few questions just to start the chat, but if you have other things you would like to chat on, bring it up in the comments. :)

Robyn's Questions:
1.)  Do you think they'll be able to save Hank?  At what risk?
2.)  Even though we haven't gotten to know Will, I was kind of sad to see him go.  Are you happy with the result?  Knowing we'll have Rex and he'll still be Will's body.
3.)  Thoughts on the Shadow creature anyone?  What danger will Charlie have to face with the shadow?
4.)  Is it me or did it seem to easy with Bryn?  I feel like something else is going to go wrong.

Melissa's Questions:
1.)  What about Emma?  She is going to the school for magic.  Do you think we'll see her much in the future?
2.)  Do you think there will be a long term affect on Charlie and Bryn for the power of the elements which Charlie used to help Bryn?
3.)  What about out lady in waiting?  The First One laying at the bottom of the lake.  What will come from the visions Charlie is having?

Darn work! I actually had to do work today while I was there and didn't get to chat on the chat here.

But got a few things for this book.

I think I'm finding I've enjoyed this book the best out of the series. I really like the way we are getting to see the other worlds and the characters with their abilities, or magic. I do like my magic. ;D

Now, right down to the big question! WHEN'S THE NEXT BOOK COMING OUT!?????

Okay. Hank! I knew that was going to be where he ended up. But we have to go get him and at what cost? I don't know. But it's not going to be pretty at all! They are not going to want to give up Hank. And Charlie is always good at blowing everything up when her anger takes over. lol. I think she will leave a wake of distruction in her path trying to get Hank.

I just hope when they take him out of the Grid he's not harmed. As when they took the King out he died. That leaves a worried taste in my mouth.

I just have one thing to ask... How the heck can Charlie be so calm for over a week while Hank was taken back and put back in that hell he told her about? I would be nawing at the bit to get over there to save him.

I know she has a family and a daughter to tend to with all that she has just learned but I don't know if I couldn't run to save Hank too. Wow! That is a tough place to be. Charlie is a stronger woman than I.

Oh Will! I was so sad when I read that. Kelly wrote that so beautifully! I know I wasn't attached to Will, nothing like I am with Rex. So much is invested with Rex as he is the one we've been in connection with. But the loss of and ex-husband and a past love, and a father. Really you got to see the connection they had. Wonderfully written.

I like that Rex is still with us. Like I mentioned before, I don't think we could have completely lost Rex unless he sacrificed himself for them or was killed. But sending him to another body could have been a way to go as well. But this one fit perfectly.

Rex has so much more to share with us and do with Charlie. WIth his Jinn background, he is a needed character. :)

I like it! And it was a way to remove Will from the back list and complete that story line. Nicely done.

That darn Shadow Creature!! I want more! We kind of were left hanging with it. I'm very curious if it doesn't have a connection with the First One in some strange way. I'm just not sure how or why yet. But I do want more.

It does NOT seem like it is one after Charlie or to hurt her. Almost like it wants to help her or work with her. But can't communicate with her yet. It will come up with a way here, hopefully soon.

I think there might be more backlash or after affects from what Charlie did with the elemental powers to Bryn. I don't know if Solomon or any other Jinn will come back to her as she is still on the Ash making her volnerable. But it is a possibility.

But I do wonder if the Elemental powers used will affect them in any way. Make them stronger?

I still don't know if the Earth Slyph ever healed Charlie and if she did heal her, of what. Something we might find out in the future.

Where is my head today, haha..sorry, I'm here not, hehe.

I did love that we got to explore the other worlds. I'm curious to know more about Hank's, which should be next book.

I have a feeling Hank will be okay in the end but at the same time, to get there, it will be difficult. Charlie definitely won't go down without a fight. She's going to get hurt or someone who joins her.

I think Charlie is just good at hiding her emotions. With people surrounding her, she can put her emotions aside. I bet if we saw a scene where she is by herself for a long period of time, she is hurting over Hank.

Also I bet she is thinking, Hank wouldn't want to be her upset or sad. I could see Hank being that way.

I did feel bad for Will. I like how Gay wrote that scene. I felt so bad for Emma. At first I didn't think we would get that scene where Charlie would tell Emma. I thought it would be a behind the scenes type thing.I'm glad we saw it though, you got to feel Emma's emotions.

I definitely hope the shadow creature ends up being good. I'm wondering if we'll see the creature in the next book or will we have to wait for another book.

Maybe the creature will be involved in Hank's rescue.

robsad79 said...

I wonder if we will see the elemental power again. I would hate to see Charlie go through all that to only use it for a scene or two.

Maybe those powers can help with Hank's rescue.

Haha, I'm already trying to find ways to save Hank.

robsad79 said...

I like that Emma is going to the magic school. Maybe she can help Charlie in the future with something.

Like I mentioned about, I really think there is going to be left overs of the elemental power. They might come in handy or they could be dangerous. I'm hoping for handy of course, haha.

I do wonder what the side effects will be. Will she be okay in the end or is something going to happen to her as the elementals leave her body.

Melissa (My words and pages) said...

Yes, I'm very curious about Hanks world too. It is said to be heaven. So, what is heaven? ;D Very curious to see what Kelly has in store for us there.

Melissa (My words and pages) said...

I think it's going to be very touchy in getting Hank as well. And Charlie is NOT going to be welcomed there very well at all. Those sirens that took Hank sounded very self centered and very much against humans. I think Charlie is going to blow Heaven all to pieces. :D lol!

But I think Rex will find a way to go with her.

And Aaron! Maybe Aaron will go too. We didn't get as much of him in this book. I kind of missed the magic he shares with us, but we got a better view of Rex which was very nice.

Melissa (My words and pages) said...

Yes, I guess you are right. Charlie is good at buring her emotions to get the job done. And this job is her friends.

Oh yes! I'm glad it was shared Charlie telling Emma. Emma has become a very important secondary character and I think that was needed.

I think the Shadow Creature will show up. It might take a few times at using her powers like in Charbydon but it will follow her use of her powers. I'm hoping to learn more about it though.

Melissa (My words and pages) said...

I think I'm more curious about the elemental powers with Bryn than Charlie. It wasn't meant to be sent to Bryn, and she has an elemental power anyway.

I'm curious what the Earth Slyph meant with healing Charlie. And did she heal Charlie? That has really stuck out to me, and I want more on it!

Melissa (My words and pages) said...

I'm very happy Emma is going to the magic school as well. She has more abilities than just talking to animals. So I'm curious how that will work out. It just might come to be very important in the future! And what side of the worlds are her powers from? From Charbydon or Elysia? Or both? Hmmm.....

robsad79 said...

I would love to see more Aaron, I'm curious about him. But I'm wondering if he'll stay back with Bryn. Unless Bryn comes along for the ride.

robsad79 said...

I hope we do get more of the elemental powers. There is so much more to them, we have to see and learn more about them. *Crosses fingers*
