A New ARC/Galley website... NetGalley

I was contacted by a nice author, Kersten Hamilton who's book Tyger Tyger will be out in November 2010, the other day with a link to a new ARC/Galley website.  (Thank you Kersten for sharing this with us!)  This site has a great setup as to looking through future releases and then requesting a copy of the Galley to read and review.  The website is NetGalley.

Some of the Galleys are eReader and some are ARC books.  All you have to do is register and log in, which is very easy.  Set up an account for yourself so the authors and publishers can see what you like to read.  Then you can start shopping around the many books they have listed.

Once you find a book you like you can click on the Learn More button to see the format of the book and a synopsis of the book.  If you would like to request a copy or ecopy of the book to read and review just click the Request button.  Once the author/publisher receives your request and has a copy available you will receive an email notice letting you know you had a request for the book titled and you are able to access it now.

All that is requested is you do a review to help get the name of the book and author out and about for many others to learn about.  It is a shame to have wonderful books missed by readers who would love it because it was not shared with us. ;)

There are Young Adult and Adult reads here on the site.

There are all sorts of genre to choose from as well:
Arts & Photography          Biographies & Memoirs
    Business & Investing         Children's
    Christian                          Comics & Graphic
Computers & Internet       Cooking, Food & Wine
    Crafts & Hobbies             Entertainment
    Erotica                            Gay & Lesbian
    Health, Mind & Body        History
Home & Garden              Literature & Fiction
    Mystery & Thrillers          Nonfiction
Outdoors & Nature          Parenting & Families
    Politics                            Professional & Technical
    Reference                       Religion & Spirituality
    Romance                        Self-Help
    Science                           Science Fiction & Fantasy
    Sports                            Textbooks
    Teens & YA                    Travel

There has to be something here you would read and enjoy.

I am sharing this information and site with you in hopes that we can all help share wonderful books that are available for us to read which we may miss otherwise.  I hope you will take a moment to check out the site and enjoy what they have to offer for the authors there.  Help spread the word of amazing books just waiting to be read.

  1. This is a great website! I'm looking through the catalog now. How do you tell if a book is an ebook or ARCs?

  2. Lisa - That is one of the things I am still trying to learn. I noticed if you look at the info. button, it mentions if it is a book or a ebook. But one of the ones I requested I thought would be a book and got an ebook. So, I'm not 100% sure yet. I am still learning my way around the site. But it seems pretty easy to navigate. :) Hope you enjoy.

  3. They are all ebooks. All are galleys or ARCs. I didn't know you hadn't heard of this one. I got Iron Daughter that way. Loved that book.

  4. NetGalley is a great site, and almost makes me want to finally buy an ereader! *L*

I read Iron Daughter through NetGalley, and have my eye on a few others. Have fun!

  5. Melissa - They are all ebooks. Oh, I didn't realize that. The reason is when I was looking around after I requested the ARC I clicked on the words for more information on what to do. In there it showed a button that you could request a hard copy of the book from the publisher or author. Now, the book I was looking at didn't have that option with it. So I had thought there must be some you could get a hard copy - book - of. Thanks for letting me know! :) So...that is how you got Iron Daughter. Hmm, I am going to have to remember this. ;)

Alexia - LOL I have thought the same thing about an ereader with this site. And with them lowering the prices, almost to good to be true. Maybe for my Birthday? We'll see. :) Hope you enjoy visiting them. :)
