Monday's Beginnings (85)

How are you faring at the beginning of this week?  Are you starting a new book or finishing one up?

So, it seems as Monday has found us again.  These weekends are starting to cramp my reading style some lately.  I didn't get to do any reading this weekend.  And that hurts as I am a slower reader, but I really get through the biggest chunk of a book over the weekend and finish up through the week.  But the weather is starting to turn for the better and everyone is out and about.  We had family visiting over the weekend and birthdays for a close friends son.  So off we were again.

I did get a review posted last night, for Grimspace by Ann Aguirre

I need to post my review for City of Glass by Cassandra Clare later this week too.  Oh man did I love this book.

I am currently reading:
Billibub Baddings and The Case of The Singing Sword by Tee Morris - I'm hoping to finish this book up this week, if all goes well and people stop visiting. ;)
Road Trip of the Living Dead by Mark Henry - This book is for the Blog Book Chat on Thursdays.  We are reading the second section now.

As for my WANT list... I added... oh wait. That can't be accurate.  Hmmm, what did I do last week!?  Well, it looks as I've only added 2 book to the want list.  Oh, wow.  That is just wrong.  I also added 2 books to the Curious About list.  I'm going to have to fix that this week.

Received Last Week:

For Review:
I'm really looking forward to reading this fantasy read.  Sounds like a great adventure.  This is a read to be read and reviewed in June for the release of the book.
Book Synopsis:

Three generations ago Captain Vidarian Rulorat's great-grandfather gave up an imperial commission to commit social catastrophe by marrying a fire priestess. For love, he unwittingly doomed his family to generations of a rare genetic disease that follows families who cross elemental boundaries. Now Vidarian, the last surviving member of the Rulorat family, struggles to uphold his family legacy, and finds himself chained to a task as a result of the bride price his great-grandfather paid: the Breakwater Agreement, a seventy-year-old alliance between his family and the High Temple of Kara'zul, domain of the fire priestesses.

The priestess Endera has called upon Vidarian to fulfill his family's obligation by transporting a young fire priestess named Ariadel to a water temple far to the south, through dangerous pirate-controlled territory. A journey perilous in the best of conditions is made moreso by their pursuers: rogue telepathic magic-users called the Vkortha who will stop at nothing to recover Ariadel, who has witnessed their forbidden rites.

Together, Vidarian and Ariadel will navigate more than treacherous waters: Imperial intrigue, a world that has been slowly losing its magic for generations, secrets that the priestesshoods have kept for longer, the indifference of their elemental goddesses, gryphons -- once thought mythical -- now returning to the world, and their own labyrinthine family legacies. Vidarian finds himself at the intersection not only of the world's most volatile elements, but of colliding universes, and the ancient and alien powers that lurk between them...

Purchased:
Well, I finished the third book of the trilogy and LOVED it so much I just had to run out on release day to purchase this one.  Yes, I'm hooked.
Goodreads Synopsis:
City of Fallen Angels takes place two months after the events of City of Glass. In it, a mysterious someone’s killing the Shadowhunters who used to be in Valentine’s Circle and displaying their bodies around New York City in a manner designed to provoke hostility between Downworlders and Shadowhunters, leaving tensions running high in the city and disrupting Clary’s plan to lead as normal a life as she can — training to be a Shadowhunter, and pursuing her relationship with Jace. As Jace and Clary delve into the issue of the murdered Shadowhunters, they discover a mystery that has deeply personal consequences for them — consequences that may strengthen their relationship, or rip it apart forever.

Meanwhile, internecine warfare among vampires is tearing the Downworld community apart, and only Simon — the Daylighter who everyone wants on their side — can decide the outcome; too bad he wants nothing to do with Downworld politics. Love, blood, betrayal and revenge: the stakes are higher than ever in City of Fallen Angels.

And I did order a few other books online last week which have not arrived yet.  But I do expect them this week. :D So more books will show up next Monday for sure.

I do have a few things I want to get through this week book wise.  So, I am hoping for a good reading week. Hoping, that is.  And really try to push for a better reading weekend next weekend.  Although, I know the Pittsburgh Comic Convention is this weekend too.  So I think one day will be lost to that.

How are you looking to far this week?  Does it look like a good reading week for you?

Here's to wishing you all the best in words and pages.
