Monday's Beginnings (76)

How are you faring at the beginning of this week?  Are you starting a new book or finishing one up?

It's Monday once again.  I got finished two books last week!  I was so happy with myself.  I got through Lodestone Book One: The Sea of Storms by Mark Whiteway and Cybermage by Alma Alexander.

I plan on finishing up the review of Cybermage this week.

I think Saturday was my reading day.  And it was nice to get that back again. :) Sunday, well was not much reading as I was prepping for the Superbowl and spent the night watching the football game.  But, I'm hoping to get some great reading done this week as well.  I currently am working on The Lost Gate by Orson Scott Card.  And I'm working on The Mage in Black by Jaye Wells for the Blog Book Chat.

I'm sorry as I'm already behind in blog commenting and visiting.  I've been working on trying to get things going in a better direction with my sons grades at school.  Hm, he's 11 but I swear we've hit the teenage years early.  So hard to get anywhere with the kid now.  But we are working together and now I'm going to get with the teachers to get a better grip of what they do and get a regiment together at home.  It just takes time and persistence.

As for my WANT list...I've added 7 books.  Okay, so I've been a little slow this past week.  And I've added 2 books to the Curious About list. :)

Books Received Last Week:
For Review:
The Unfinished Song: Initiate

Goodreads Synopsis:
DEADLY INITIATION

A DETERMINED GIRL...

Dindi can't do anything right, maybe because she spends more time dancing with pixies than doing her chores. Her clan hopes to marry her off and settle her down, but she dreams of becoming a Tavaedi, one of the powerful warrior-dancers whose secret magics are revealed only to those who pass a mysterious Test during the Initiation ceremony. The problem? No-one in Dindi's clan has ever passed the Test. Her grandmother died trying. But Dindi has a plan.

AN EXILED WARRIOR...

Kavio is the most powerful warrior-dancer in Faearth, but when he is exiled from the tribehold for a crime he didn't commit, he decides to shed his old life. If roving cannibals and hexers don't kill him first, this is his chance to escape the shadow of his father's wars and his mother's curse. But when he rescues a young Initiate girl, he finds himself drawn into as deadly a plot as any he left behind. He must decide whether to walk away or fight for her... assuming she would even accept the help of an exile.

So, how are you faring this week?  Does it look like a good reading week for you?

I think I might, but I have a lot of catching up to do in the blogging world as well. :)

Here's to wishing you all the best in words and pages.

  1. The last few days have held a lot of reading time, which has been great. I finished 4 books (Allison Pang's A Brush of Darkness; Nicole Peeler's Tempest's Legacy; Deeanne Gist's Maid to Match; and William Gibson's Zero History.) I've also read a bit in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Seth Grahame-Smith and Jane Austen, and I'm about halfway through Denise Robbins' Never Tempt Danger. But neither of these is what I want to read right now. I don't know why. I am enjoying each - for different reasons, natch - and I want to see how the stories end...but still...) Something different beckons.
Perhaps I'll read The Circle Trilogy by Nora Roberts. It's a paranormal from a few years ago, and while her trilogies are a bit formulaic, I do enjoy them.
After that? We'll see. There are so many good books out now! (But I've blown my book budget already...I'm in so much trouble, come Feb 22!)
    Have a great week!

  2. Rissatoo - Oh wow, you really are on a roll with all these books! I wish I could read that fast and much. :) Oh and Feb. 22! I'm in trouble! I don't know, I think I'm going to have to stay away from the stores that day. ;D Hope you have another great week!

  3. I wanted to stop by and say hi and that I'm so far behind in blog reading. I've been feeling like crap lately and it's been all I could do just to keep my own blog posts going.

I hope everything is going well and that you guys are getting settled into the new home. Have a great week!

  4. Ryan G - Hey! So glad you stopped by! Oh, I hope you aren't getting that awful cold that's going around. People are passing it around here and it just sounds awful! We've been fortunate not to get it yet. Everything is going really great. :) thank you! And I hope all is well for you as well.
