Monday's Beginnings (28)

So, here we are again... Another Monday!

How are you faring in reading your books?  Are you starting a new book for the week or finishing one up?

I had another busy weekend and was not feeling very well.  Last week I put it off and on Friday I went to the doctors.  Well, I called Tuesday and they couldn't get me in till Friday - but I didn't push to get an appointment earlier.  I found out I have another sinus infection.  I hate these, they make my eyes hurt so too.  But, the last half of the week was running with my son and personal items that we just had to do.  Nothing bad, just things like hair cuts and coloring and visiting with family, you know all those things that just takes time.  So reading was a little limited as of Wednesday.  I am hoping to have a better reading week this week.

I am currently reading Spiral Hunt by Margaret Ronald and The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms by N.K. Jemisin.  I am hoping to get through Spiral Hunt here this evening, I think I have about 40 pages left.

I have added six books to my list this week.  Between reading blogs and I got a few wonderful suggestions too.  You are all giving me great books to get and read, and keep all these wonderful authors in lots of work. :)

I did get a two books this week:

The Emerald Storm is an ARC.  I have been loving this series so far and can not wait to get to book #4.

Dead, Undead, or Somewhere in Between is another book I was looking forward to.

I can't wait to get into these two books!

So, how are you faring this Monday?  Does the week look like a promising reading week?  I am hoping so, for you and me!  Happy Reading!

  1. Just finsihed Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkings and I'm now working on Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver :)

  2. I'm sorry to hear you've been under the weather. Sinus infections are horrid little things.

I am still on the same books I was last week. I was good and kept with the Surrendered and I'm still keeping my schedule with the Poacher's Son. I'm actually a few chapters behind on it. Going out of town for a few days slowed me up.

  3. Well, I just started reading an ARC of Hell Fire. It looks really good so far!

  4. Hope you're feeling better girl! We've got one more week of Partners in Crime on TuesBookTalk (tomorrow)...the last two chapters. Next week we will start The Little Stranger. Have you got the book yet? We may skip a week if everyone doesn't have it.

I just started a review book called Fragile by Chris Katsaropoulos. I'm late on my Monday posts, as usual, but I will be working on them shortly.

  5. Sorry you have a sinus infection. Those are definitely no fun. Hope you feel better soon.

  6. I'm sorry to hear that you have been unwell lately, but I'm glad I wasn't alone in my misery. Hope you are feeling better now and have a great week.

  7. I'm starting Dead, Undead and Somewhere in Between next week! I hear it is cute.
    Hope you feel better!

  8. I love the cover of The Emerald Stone. I'm about half way through The Rosary Girls which is all about the murder of teenage girls who are found with their hands bolted in the prayer position, clutching rosary beads.

  9. Jen - Hex Hall sounds interesting. I hope you enjoy Before I Fall. Have a great week.

Zia - Glad to see you are staying on schedule with the discussions. :) That is fun to do that way. Hope you have a great reading week.

Spav - I am waiting for Blue Diablo to come in the mail here. Hell Fire looks really good. I can't wait for the first book. Looking forward to your review!

Michelle - Thanks :) I am glad to hear we have one more week on Partners in Crime. I was afraid you would be starting The Little Stranger this week. As you can guess I did not get my copy yet. I will have to get it here this week. I think I have heard of Fragile. I will have to read your review. Have a great week!

  10. Pixie - Thanks :) I am starting to feel a little more my self again, not as tired. Thanks for stopping by!

Ryan - Thank you Ryan. And it is always nice to know you are not alone in the misery. *chuckle* I do hope you are finally feeling better your self. Have a great week! :)

Mandi - I am excited to get into Dead, Undead and Somewhere in Between. I look forward to reading your review. Thank you. :)

Petty Witter - The whole series by Michael Sullivan have wonderful covers. I really like them all. The Rosary Girls sounds like a heavy book. Hope you are enjoying it. Have a great week!

  11. I want to get and read Micheals books so very badly!! I need to! haha! You got an ARC of the 4th book, too, how cool! Oh, and I am Loving The one hundred thousand kingdoms!! :)

  12. Hey Krista! I have really enjoyed the books from Michael. I think you would really enjoy them too. I am really enjoying The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms too! I have to finish reading Partners in Crime tonight for the TuesBookTalk discussion, Agatha Christie book. Then I can get to section 2 of The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms. I think I can get through the second quickly since I am liking it so much. I bet the discussion is overflowing with comments since I haven't read them in fear they are in the second section. Hope to see ya over there :)

  13. Oh I did comment over there on characters. I'm going to jump in more when we start the second section because there were just so many post that there was no way I could go through them all! lol

Oh and I made a new blog post! YAY me! haha

  14. I'm sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well, I hope you're feeling better soon. It sounds like you've got some great reading ahead of you and I hope you enjoy them.

  15. Krista - the second section hasn't been started yet. Wow. I am getting ready to read the second section today. Its only 98 pages so I hope to be done here tomorrow and into the discussion again.
