Monday's Beginnings

This is the beginning of a new week!

So, I am wondering: where you are in your books or are you starting a new book for the new week?

The beginning of the week always seems to be a great time to start anew. To me it seems to be the way Monday goes is a sign of how the week will follow. Have you been able to get much reading time in today? Or are you going to be rushed all week to get everything into the short 24 hour day?

See, I am unfortunately a slow reader. I'm not a speed reader like many of you out there in the blogoshere. LOL! I see many excellent books on all of your sites and have added them to my to be read pile which is growing by leaps and bounds. This really is a wonderful thing! You are all helping to keep me out of trouble and these wonderful authors in work.

Well, for me today:
I am still in my wonderful read of The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. I really am enjoying this book, and savoring every word read. I am not even half way through yet, but a little over a third of the way, don't worry I plan on doing a review of the book when I am through. As for how today is going for reading... well, that may fall in the category of - yet to be determined. We, my family, are on vacation this week. BUT, this is a work vacation - we are working on remodeling our bathroom and with the way things have gone today it will take all week. So, my reading time for the day has not happened yet and I am hoping for some reading time tonight.

Let me know how the week is looking for you.

  1. Well, Mel, I'm on page 265 and I just love it! What page are you on? I'm asking to see if you have gotten to the music yet? I got to one part and seriously it was a powerful moment. I've even gotten teary eyed a few times already...LOL! The Name of the Wind has some awesome dialog!

I haven't been too busy lately except work and watching over my little one, feeding, and picking up after her and such. Other than that, though, I've been pretty much awed by Rothfuss! But I am having a problem...I'm trying to find a good book to start while in the middle of The Name of the Wind, but haven't been able to chose a book. So, I guess I'm in a book rut, kind of. I guess there can be such a thing as too many To Be Read Books! LOL! I just can't decide what to read...LOL!

I hope your bathroom turns out just the way you want it, good luck! What are you changing about it? A bigger bathtub, perhaps? LOL! Have fun!

  2. Hey Krista!

I am currently on pg 222. I am hoping to get some reading done inbetween posts. I haven't got to the music yet, but where I am and where you are I should be coming up to it here soon.

As for the bathroom...wellll... we have demoed out the WHOLE thing. We are even putting new insallation in the walls. I have changed the tub, sink, floor, and even walls. LOL! I have a very large vision I guess I could say...Or maybe a wish list. LOL. Good thing my husband is handy around the house with these projects.

  4. I started Any Given Doomsday by Lori Handeland over the weekend. I'm on page 65. Haven't had much time to read today, as it was my long day at work! This is an ARC from Library Thing that I was supposed to read last year and I forgot about it. They (kindly) reminded me!

Good luck on your remodel! Wish I could remodel my bathroom (actually, my whole house)...it needs it!!!

  5. Ryan & Michelle - Thanks for all the luck on the remodel.

Michelle, I looked up the book you are reading. I remember hearing the name somewhere but didn't remember much on it. It looks REALLY good. This looks to be another book I will have to add to my list. I am going to wait and read your review first.

  6. Just finished one of the books I was reading, so get to pick a new one! Love deciding which book to read next! Like you, I'm not a speed reader, but I think us slowpokes get to savor the books that way! At least, that's my excuse. *L*

Good luck on your remodel! Hope it turns into your dream bath! :)

  7. Alexia I do have to agree with you, as we do savor the books by reading slowly. I have said that at times my self. Also, thanks for the wishes with the bathroom.

    I do appreciate it!
