NaNoWriMo Anyone? And off for a Month...maybe?

I wanted to post to let you all know I'll be scarce around the blogging world for the month of November.  I'm going to attempt to do NaNoWriMo this year.  My first attempt, and truthfully my first time at trying to get a whole novel out of my head.  I always write notes but haven't really put them all together.  Yeah, my trouble's I talk myself out of the book when I just get started.  But, I'm hoping to stick with it to the end this time... no matter how stupid it sounds.  If you are doing NaNoWriMo, you can buddy me (if or when it gets up and running) my name is Melhay.

But back to the post.  I'll have posts scheduled to go like my Throwback Thursday and Looking Forward Too... posts.  But other than that I wont be posting much.  If you are curious about how I'm doing I'll try to post Monday's Beginnings with updates.  And I'll be around on Twitter and Facebook so follow me there and chat with me when ever.  I have Twitter on my cell, so as long as I have service and Twitter isn't overloaded I should be able to jump on the chat. :)

I wanted to let you all know so you don't disappear on me.  I'm not going to be here much or visiting much.  I really want to do this, for once, for myself.  Even though I plan on #failingmiserably.  I know, I shouldn't be so negative.  But I think if I don't expect much out of myself then I wont be let down in the end and maybe excited with what I do get done.

I plan on being back with a vengeance December.  And I have some ideas to start then as well, if I can get them pulled together here. :)

  3. I don't believe you'll fail at all, but I hope the pressure doesn't stress you out so much. This is such an admirable thing for people to attempt and I think any measure of creative output, even if it falls short of the goal, is success in itself. I wish you lots of productivity!

  7. I'm doing NaNo this year, too. (My name there is Eternal Winter, if you want to Buddy me.) I'll still be posting reviews and such, but I've pretty much declared November to be YA Month on my blog, so that I can read shorter books and thus still get reviews out without too much worry.

Best of luck with NaNo! I'm rooting for you!

  8. And here I didn't even know you wrote fiction. Perhaps next year I will be reviewing your book on my site.

Good luck. Outline as much as you can before hand. Work up some character sketches in advance. Save your best scenes for those hard-to-motivate days. Have a list for names of people and places. And have a good book to read for inspiration...not the kind you'll get sucked into, just the kind whose writing you like.

  9. I've done it for two years now. It's fun. Sure, I haven't touched the two stories, haha but I have them stored away so I can go back to them one day.

I finally updated my profile. I'm robsad79. Now I just need the website to work to find you.

StephanieD - Thank you! I appreciate all your hope and support. :) I'm going to try to not let the pressure get to me as it's my first time at it and I'm still a newbie. I think anything I get accomplished is a great huge step in the right direction. Thank you!

Melissa (Books&Things) - Thank you! But I might need you around with that whip to help keep me going. ;D Thank you!

Emily - Thank you so kindly! I'm hoping to enjoy it more than stress myself over it.

Robyn - Oh, you should go back to the stories one of these days. :) And I did buddy you as well :) Thank you!

Ryan - Oh thank you! I wish you had the time to do it as I think you would Rock Nano. :)
