Tales from the Archives - Ten

Tales from the Archives - Ten

By:  Pip Ballantine & Tee Morris

Written & Narrated by:  Tee Morris

Format:  Podcast, 43.39 minutes

Genre:  Fantasy, Steampunk

Series:  10th in Tales of the Archives podcasts, part of A Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences series

Recommendation:  Yes. Nice way to meet new characters in this steampunk-ish world particularly if you enjoyed the book; A Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences Novel, Phoenix Rising. This one is of agents in an airship where things go wrong and are ship wrecked.
Synopsis:
Darkest before the Darkwater

A group of survivors from the airship Guy Fawkes find themselves washed ashore on an uncharted island. In their search for survival they uncover one mystery after another.

My Thoughts and Summary:
It's the summer of 1894.  We start in an airship where things are off and have to evacuate.  There is an island there, that is NOT suppose to be based on charts.  Six crew members are now shipwrecked on this mysterious island and not seeing eye to eye on order of command.  In searching the island there are many strange things found.  And the crew wonders of the purpose of this hidden port.

Tee mixes so much into this short podcast.  Okay, so the podcast it 43 minutes, but it feels nothing like 43 minutes long.  There is much to learn here on this mysterious hidden island and it's purpose.  When you listen you will understand.

Of the mix, we quickly meet all the crew members and start to see a few...strong... personalities between them.  We get a feel for the steam machinery in the vessels this crew uses.  And even for items in this stowed away port.  Which makes me very curious about this place.

I love the sound effects!! Amazing. I felt like I was IN THE SHIP.   I have to say this story is a wonderful reason to listen to these podcasts.  Yes, you can start purchasing them on Kindle for 99cents but you will miss all the sound effects.

Wonderful story Tee!  Now, can we get more please?

Would you like to listen to these? For a taste of the characters or in addition to the book... Visit The Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences.

NEW!! The Tales from the Archives is now found on Kindle as The Ministry's 99-Penny Dreadfuls.

There are short stories always added to the listing. So keep checking back!

I listened to this short story for my own enjoyment.

  2. Oh, no Melissa. They are now making these into ebooks to read. You can get them for you Kindle now, but if you read them you don't get to listen to the amazing sound effects that are in the podcasts. :) I think listening is the best part, but can see why others would want to read them. :) Hope you get to listening to these soon!

  6. Lisa Read.Breathe.Relax - I LOVE these podcasts. They are amazing to listen to. And such great short stories. You can listen to them now or wait to listen to them if you want to read Phoenix Rising by Philippa Ballantine and Tee Morris, but if you listen now it will NOT ruin any of the book for you. :)
