Looking Forward To...(62)

There are so many amazing books already on the shelves and new ones coming out.

For a list of books yet to be released I'm looking to get, you can also look on my right Sidebar at the ever growing list titled Desired Reads - just scroll down. Of course there are tones of other new books to come out that are amazing as well, but these ones are part of series I have already started or for one reason or another caught my eye (and haven't seen much on other blogs yet). But I will highlight one here each week.

(mentioned in order of Release Date then Alphabetical if there are more than one book coming out on the same date.)

Next Book Is...

Aftermath
#5 Sirantha Jax Series
By:  Ann Aguirre
Due Out:  August 30, 2011

I've been enjoying this Science Fiction series for a little while now.  And I'm actually currently reading Killbox, the 4th in the series.  This is one Science Fiction story that is full of action, the story always moves forward, a couple (yes couple, not a love triangle ~ its kind of nice for a change), and most of all NOT weighted down with the technology details.  Sirantha Jax is growing as a character by leaps and bounds and always adjusting.  Really fun reads.

I have reviewed the first three books, if you are curious:
   Grimspace
   Wanderlust
   Doubleblind

Goodreads Synopsis:
DEAD HEROES GET MONUMENTS. LIVE ONES GET TRIALS.

Sirantha Jax has the right genes—ones that enable her to “jump” faster-than-light ships through grimspace. But it’s also in her genetic makeup to go it alone. It’s a character trait that has gotten her into—and out of—hot water time and time again, but now she’s caused one of the most horrific events in military history…

During the war against murderous, flesh-eating aliens, Sirantha went AWOL and shifted grimspace beacons to keep the enemy from invading humanity’s homeworld. The cost of her actions: the destruction of modern interstellar travel—and the lives of six hundred Conglomerate soldiers.

Accused of dereliction of duty, desertion, mass murder, and high treason, Sirantha is on trial for her life. And only time will tell if she’s one of the Conglomerate’s greatest heroes—or most infamous.

  1. Does that really come out on the 30th? That would make three books I'm anxious for to come out. Between this one, Black London, and Night Huntress, I'll be wanting to read them all at once, haha

  3. I need to get my ass in order and finally start this series. I tried Blue Diablo, but it didn't work for me. Hopefully Grimspace will fit better.

  6. Robyn - yep the 30th already. :) We have several books to look forward too. :)

Petty Witter - Hi! Hope you are doing well. :) Glad you like the sounds of this one. :)

Anachronist - Hey! :) Can't wait! Hope we all get to enjoy this one together.

Bastard - I think you would enjoy this series much more than Corine Solomon. Jax has her hang-ups too, but there is more going on here too.

Alexia - He! :) This is a great sci fi series to read as it's not all technology detailed and more story focused. :) Hope you give it a try one day.

Diana (@Offbeat Vagabond) - Hey! Thank you for stopping by! I do hope you enjoy this series when you give it a go. :) Thank you!
