Monday's Beginnings (63)

How are you faring in reading at the beginning of this week?  Are you starting a new book or finishing one up?

I'm hoping to have another great week this week.  I feel as I had a great week last week, although not as wonderful as many of you. ;)  I got to stay home most of the weekend and read away.  I really enjoy when I get to do that.  And have missed it lately.  So, I did get a few books done in which I am working on the reviews for; Tyger Tyger by Kersten Hamilton and The Cries for Vampira by Sean Robertson (a novella).  I got about half way through Spellspam by Alma Alexander.

I am hoping to get through two books this week.  Those books I plan to finish this week are Hell Fire by Ann Aguirre and Spellspam by Alma Alexander.  Hell Fire is the Book Blog Chat we have been having.  The last and finishing of the book will be our next chat, on Thursday.  I hope you will join in with us.

My WANT list... I've added 7 books to the list this past week.  I am really going to have a tough time keeping up with this list here.  I am planning on living a long healthy life to get to them all. :)

Books Received Last Week:

For Review:
Alli-Kar, a white-hole portal from another universe, rains meteoroids onto the surface of the planet Kelanni. But the so-called "lodestones" behave according to different physical laws, transforming Kelanni's society. With the aid of the fearsome Keltar in their flying cloaks, the Kelanni are being put to forced labor to mine the lodestones. Shann, an orphan with a fiery disposition, witnesses a battle between a Keltar and a stranger bearing a similar flying cloak. She tracks down the stranger, learning of the technology behind the Keltars' power and joining him on a mission to free the slaves and cut off their supply of lodestones. Meanwhile Keris, a Keltar, is sent on a mission to track down the rebels. She is attacked by a flying creature and saved by the enigmatic Chandara. At their Great Tree, she learns that a mysterious "Prophet" is out to destroy the Kelanni people. Their only hope is a powerful instrument hidden in the distant past. Pursued by Keltar, the party will encounter bizarre creatures, ancient technologies and terrifying dangers. Finally, they must seek to cross a massive storm barrier in order to reach the other side of their world, where a world-shaking revelation awaits.

So, how are you faring this week?  Does it look like a good reading week?

Here's to you having a great week in words and pages.

  3. So how are you enjoying Hell Fire? I was thinking of checking up on your discussion but I didn't want to risk giving away any spoilers.
I've actually gotten a lot of reading done recently but I just haven't managed to get myself to write the reviews. Now I'm not going to let myself read anymore books until I review the ones that I already read.
I've read a lot of good reviews of Tyger Tyger and look forward to seeing what your thoughts on it are.

    Have a great week!

  4. Melissa - I'm trying to pull the review for Tyger Tyger, but I really enjoyed the book! And I want to show that greatly in the review. I started it but its dry. I seem to be going through a time where I'm having a hard time with doing reviews. :( Oh, I saw you tagged me! Now I have to get to doing that post too. ;) Thanks!

Casey - I really enjoyed reading Tyger Tyger. So much I need to get the book to show others and make them go get it. :D Thank you for stopping by! I'm looking at reviewing The Lodestone book at the beginning of 2011. :)

Simcha - I'm really enjoying Hell Fire. I didn't know where she was going to take the ghost thing, but really like it. I really like how the story is always moving. She has a real talent with that. Sounds like you are doing great with reading too. :) I know the feeling with the reviews. I think I'm in a review writing slump lately. I want to read and not right. The words seem to be lost on me lately. But I have to turn that around here. :) Have a great week!
