Monday's Beginnings (26)

Well, here we are again... another Monday!

How are you faring in reading your books?  Are you starting a new book for the week or finishing one up?

I had myself a mini read-a-thon over the weekend.  Friday night and Saturday morning until about lunch time all I did was read.  With that reading time I finished Demon Bound by Caitlin Kittredge.  The last night I started into my next read for the week, Boneshaker by Cherie Priest.  I am not far in the book yet, on page 92 out of 414.  I am hoping, no - planning to get it done this week.

I have been working on trying to put myself on a time table with blogging, blog reading, reading books, and writing.  So, I have found I am really behind in my blog reading.  I keep adding awesome blogs so I am having a hard time keeping up with everyone.  But I am enjoying all the great information I am reading and great people I've been chatting with.

I have added 3 books to my wanting list.  There were a few same books that where floating around and many I already have on the list to get.

I received 2 books in the mail this week.

I received this book as a winning from over at Alexia's Books and Such...

I am thinking my son and I can enjoy this book together.

The next book I received, I purchased.  The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms.  It is a feature book over at Barnes and Nobles Forums for the month of March.  So, I am going to read this one in sections for discussing and speculating on where the book will go.  I love doing these discussions, I have loads of fun. :)  If you would like to join in on the forums click here to go to the main page and set yourself up and join us in Fantasy and Science Fiction.

So, how are you faring this Monday?  Does the week look like a great reading week?  I am hoping so for you and me!  Happy Reading!

  1. I am looking forward to some good and some boring studying. I could do without having to study about basalt rocks and what happens after death (I have midterms in a geology course and a forensic anthropology course).

I can't wait to see your review on the Jemisin books. I keep seeing it all over blogs and I'm wondering if it is going to be as good as it seems it might.

  2. I've been reading here and there, not too much with edits going on. Can't wait for your reviews. :)

  3. Ruthann - I remember studying all that fun stuff, ha ha. I was an enviromental science major for a little while, before I went to accounting (yeah, not). That is a story all in itself. But they can be a little dry at times. Hope you do well. Jemisin's book review may be closer to the end of March. We try to read just a portion of the book, stop and discuss, then read more.

Jaime - Hi! Glad you stopped by. I see you are busy with edits but with the lovely flu too. Hope all get better soon and you will pull through the edits with flying colors, I'm sure.

  4. I know it's hard to keep up with it all and blog reading seems to be my downfall. Hope everything works out as you planned :-)

  5. I'm starting fresh this week. I have a short chapter book to read/review. Since I've been reading review books for a bit, I'm going to read one of my own next. Then I'll be starting up The Poacher's Son if the reading schedule is up. I'm also continuing on with Swan Thieves. I'm up to CD 5 as of today.

This is the plan anyhow. With my luck it will change lol.

  6. Jackie - It is rough some days. I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel, then everyone posts again. lol. I love reading all the posts and I try to comment everywhere, but it seems to not be happening. I hope no one gets upset that I am not commenting as usual. I do love to comment though. :) Hope you have a great week! I will stop by to see what your plans are.

Zia - I am starting to get books to review and I am loving it. The are books I want to read. I have my own stack of books here to get to as well. Swan Thieves sounds like a good book. I have seen a few reviews around on it. I look forward to your review of it when you are done. Have a great week!

  8. Hi Sheila! I am looking forward to this book. I get to get back to the fantasy I love to read. I am going to try to keep an open mind with this one and not get my hopes up to high with all the wonderful reviews out there.

  9. Hey kiddo! Congrats on the win, the book looks fun. I've been so bad about the BN forums, I need to get back on there more often, especially the Kingdom.

  10. Hey Ryan! I have been a little bad myself about being over at B&N. I have to make a better effort in the evenings to get there. I just get caught up here on the blogs anymore. - never get caught up but always around here. Are you reading Kingdom then? It would be great to have you in the discussion with us! :)
