NaNoWriMo Time!

It's that time of year again.

(Thank you Frodo, @1FantasyFanatic on Twitter and of Frodo's Blog of Randomness for pulling this clip together for me a few years back.)

I take the month of November off from blogging to focus on writing in NaNoWriMo. I won two years and failed last year. But my failure last year wasn't one I look at as a true failure. I made choices and knew they would be made and stuck with them.

I was pondering, and still found myself going back and forth with the crazy few months I had, on whether to NaNo or not.

Then I made a decision. This is what I posted on Facebook and I'm going to stick with it:
"To NaNoWriMo or not to NaNoWriMo... I've been back & forth on this notion. Life has been crazy busy and is still going. I've not had much time to re-read words let along create (or think of creating) new ones.

For those reasons I think I need to do NaNoWriMo.

I feel my mind is starting to come back to place with all the crazy go-go-go family events (kids, I love them). I'm starting to get back to re-reading/writing a story I have and noting ideas for the second book. But that's all they are at this time, ideas. I need to sit down and put them together and how to get those feelings to come across in events. (I'll have to figure out how to do this on the go as that seems to be life these days.)

There is much still happening in life and paying work coming in. But I want to put an effort into doing NaNoWriMo. Will I hit the 50k count? Who knows, but I think I need the time to get back at what I enjoy, creating. Any words are better than what I have now.

So I'm going to work at reading through the 1st book and getting a rough idea down for where I'm going in book 2. It's late to do this, I know. But writing it helps me figure it out as well. So something is better than nothing. Right?

Pending work that comes in and life major events, I am making a decision right now. I'll be joining NaNoWriMo this year. I think I need a good kick in the keister to get back at it. And why not now?"

This year I'm going to try to do it all. Well, not blogging as much but writing and editing work.

If you participate in NaNoWriMo and would like to buddy me, please do! :)

*****I know this post is extremely late. I'm sorry, but I still wanted to post it.****

    1. Ugh. My first book, Melissa (B&T)... I'm trying but I just am so slow at revising everything. *sigh* One day I'll farm it out to see if it'll get picked up. :) Thank you!
