Sunday Post #106

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share new about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

It's November! Wow. Where does the time go? Crazy how fast these months are passing by.

So, last week was a tad bit better. I did get a few stops to other blogs in. I'll not be doing much in the way of blogging for the month of November. I participate in NaNoWriMo, and plan on starting today. I will do a post that will go live either later today or tomorrow to let everyone know I won't be around. However! I do have some reviews that will go live through the month. I have one for November 9 release day and a few audio books that I'm to get reviewed in a months time (I listen to them when at the office job).

As for Kiddo and knee surgery... Well the hospital scheduling called and they had a cancellation. The surgery has been moved up and Kiddo will go in this Friday coming. We are happy for this as he'll start healing sooner and most of all less time on crutches. He's hurting from the crutches more than the knee injury itself. Them things are brutal on the body.

Book wise, I did finish an audio book and a reading book. I'll finish the audio book (in podcast form) of Alive today as the last episode will be live. So I'll take it easy on the reading side because I'm doing re-writes of the 1st book in my steampunk series along with writing for NaNoWriMo but I'm also working on content edits for an author as well.

It'll be a busy month, but I'm so looking forward to it!

This Week to Come on the Blog:

I have a review scheduled for Monday and Wednesday. And my NaNoWriMo post to go live this week.

Received Last Weeks:

Review & Review Consideration:
Of Flame and Promise by Cecy Robson
Goodreads Synopsis:
Cursed by a spell meant to destroy them, Taran Wird and her sisters instead developed unique magical talents. With the power of fire and lightning literally at her fingertips, Taran doesn’t fear much. Demons, vamps, whatever—bring ’em on! Only one thing terrifies her: commitment.

Taran is crazy about her boyfriend, Gemini, a sexy were with the incredible ability to split into two separate wolves. But after watching her sister go through heartbreak with the pack’s Alpha, Taran knows not to count on happily ever after—despite Gemini’s desire to claim her as his mate. Reluctantly, she agrees to meet his very traditional and conservative parents. Taran’s a badass with a mouth to match, and Gemini loves her for it. She’s just not positive these attributes will please Mom and Dad.

Unsurprisingly, every attempt by Taran to bond with Gemini’s folks proves disastrous. But in the end, Taran finds that winning them over means unleashing her powers . . . and proving that this foul-mouthed fire-starter is a force to be reckoned with.

Just yesterday I was an ordinary teenager…

On her sixteenth birthday Emily Rand discovers that she is a witch. Unable to control her spells she unwittingly raises zombies, and corporealizes the ghost haunting her house. She finds herself in a race against time to put everything right if she has any hope of getting to a certain Halloween party and seeing a certain boy again.

A bite that will not heal…
After being bitten in the woods, Elinore fears for her sanity. The bite is turning black. She hears things she should not be able to and feels emotions strange and foreign to her. Unnerved by her new surroundings and by the disquieting behavior of her uncle, Hayter, Elinore takes comfort in the companionship she finds at Ravenwood, including her growing affection for Caleb, her cousin by marriage.

A deepening mystery…
Why is the bite on her arm turning black? Why does she dream of the forest, of wolves and of ravens? Why is she compelled by a wolf howling at night? As Elinore struggles to understand life at Ravenwood, what will happen when the truth is revealed?

Pandora's Box by Gracen Miller
Goodreads Synopsis:
Where does the road to Hell begin?

What happens when your son turns homicidal overnight and your husband disappears on his way to work? Do you cower in fear or fight for your life? Madison Wescott fights against the odds. Distrustful of a God she doesn't believe in, she finds herself face-to-face with a world she didn't know existed and discovers her own soul is darkened with demonic connections.

With good intentions? Or by demonic design?

Phoenix Birmingham bursts into Madison’s life in a whirlwind of sarcasm and sexual appeal. A hero for the masses—and for her jaded heart—but few will ever know the sacrifices he has made or the sacrifices to come. Discovering her entire life has been influenced by multifaceted paranormal beings, Madison is determined to defeat the apocalyptic blueprint fate has decreed, but only one man dares to challenge the supernatural forces manipulating them.
