Who? What? Where? (36)

Who are you with? Where are you at? What's happening?

Share with us just a little bit of what is happening in the book you are reading, right where you are now.

Just a tiny taste of what's happening, remember try to not give spoilers of the book.

(This is a new meme I'm going to try and will tweak as I go. And please don't laugh at my lame attempt at drawing. ;D )

I'm with Trigg in an abandoned warehouse that doesn't look so abandoned from the inside.  There is something going on with the barrier, and the culprits just stumbled upon us being here.  The powerful magician just blew Trigg back forty yards through empty metal shelves.  Yep, one even landed on top of him.  Trigg is just not having a good day.

  4. Today, I am reading the beginning chapters of Under Heaven, by Guy Gavriel Kay. First time I've tried him. Very cool premise.

The main character (Tai) is honoring the memory of his dead father by burying dead soldiers in a remote mountainside battleground. His father was a general that led the fight there, many years before, but there were so many dead that they remained scattered everywhere (a hundred thousand or more), forgotten after the peace treaties were signed, left to rot. The victory always bothered his father (who lamented being involved in such loss of life, win or lose), so Tai is there, alone, spending his days giving the remains of the fallen soldiers of both sides a proper burial, so their spirits can rest.

Anyway, cool premise, we'll see how it develops. It certainly hooked me.
