Throwback Thursday (30)

Let's talk about those books already on the shelves, yours or the stores.

I have a post for books I'm looking forward to coming out;

Looking Forward To...
But what about all those wonderful books that are ALREADY on the shelves.

Whether it be on your shelf waiting to be read or on the shelves in the stores waiting for you to give it a good home.

So, I thought I would share a book a week that is just waiting for me to travel through it's world.

Now... where do I start? Lets go by Published Date on the books...

This Week:

Hmm... I do need to read this trilogy.  I've hear wonderful things about this fantasy read.  I wasn't sure it was the one for me, but the more I learned about the book from others I found I wanted it.  So I got it.  Then I heard of his new series starting with The Black Prism.  And thought that one sounded like me too.  But I do need to get back to this trilogy and start it.

Goodread's Synopsis:
For Durzo Blint, assassination is an art-and he is the city's most accomplished artist.

For Azoth, survival is precarious. Something you never take for granted. As a guild rat, he's grown up in the slums, and learned to judge people quickly - and to take risks. Risks like apprenticing himself to Durzo Blint.

But to be accepted, Azoth must turn his back on his old life and embrace a new identity and name. As Kylar Stern, he must learn to navigate the assassins' world of dangerous politics and strange magics - and cultivate a flair for death.

  3. I agree with Blodeudd - read it!! It's a great trilogy. I read it last year and absolutely loved it. Think I must be slightly dark myself as I didn't think it was too bad! :)

  5. I've also been meaning to read this series, mostly because Brent Weeks is so popular that I feel like I should read something by him. Though I've heard that his new series is even better so I might try that instead.

  10. I enjoyed the first book, inconsistencies/structure probs and all. I made myself finish the often-infuriating book two... only made it about 25% through book 3 before giving up in disgust. Not sure how that might factor into your decision (if at all), but there it is... I say, try book one, enjoy it for what it is, but take a deep breath before moving forward.

    By the way, if you don't have the trilogy purchased yet, I can send you my set. I'm doing spring cleaning in my office and have a bunch of books up for grabs (before I donate them to a garage sale somewhere), including the Night Angel Trilogy (bought new, read once). It's yours if you want it, my gift.

    You can check my latest blog post for more titles to add to your massive collection, if you want...
