How are you faring in reading at the beginning of this week? Are you starting a new book or finishing one up?
Things are still on fast forward here. We spent the weekend cleaning, going through, and boxing up stuff. I just can't believe how much stuff we have collected over the last six or so years. Crazy! And we still have so much more to do. So... I didn't get much reading done over the weekend. I am feeling the need to get through the books I have going soon. I am ready to be on to the next read. So I am going to push this week to get done with Blue Diable by Ann Aguirre for the Blog Book Chat and People of the Sword by Neill O'Donnell.
I did get one review up over the weekend, From A Far Land by G. David Walker. If you would like to read the review, CLICK HERE.
Now to the Wishlist... Thanks to all of you I have added 6 books! All these books sound like amazing reads. This list is one in which I try to keep as only the books I REALLY want to and plan to read. All these amazing authors should be so proud and happy of all these amazing books.
Books Received Last Week:
Purchased:
I have been wanting this book since it came out. But for what ever reason I just never got it. When I went to the store two weeks ago I was determined to get it. But they didn't have it on the shelves. So, they ordered it for me and sent it to my house. I just got it last week. And to boot The Spinecracker is doing a chat on this book at the beginning of October. :) So come join us is you would like, here is the link!
GoodReads Synopsis:
Divorced mother of one, Charlie Madigan, lives in a world where the beings of heaven and hell exist among us, and they aren't the things of Sunday school lessons and Hallmark figurines. In the years since the Revelation, they've become our co-workers, neighbors, and fellow citizens.
Charlie works for ITF (Integration Task Force). It's her job to see that the continued integration of our new "friends" goes smoothly and everyone obeys the law, but when a new off-world drug is released in Underground Atlanta, her daughter is targeted, and her ex-husband makes a fateful bargain to win her back, there's nothing in heaven or earth (or hell for that matter) that Charlie won't do to set things right.
So, I am currently reading the first book of this series with the Urban Fantasy Book Blog Chat group here. (Including Robyn from The Bookoholic Zone and Jessica from The Spinecracker has been chatting with us as well. You can join in with us at any time!) But, I have been enjoying the first book so I had to pick up the second book...
GoodReads Synopsis:
As a handler, Corine Solomon can touch any object and know its history. It's too bad she can't seem to forget her own. With her ex-boyfriend Chance in tow-lending his own supernatural brand of luck-Corine journeys back home to Kilmer, Georgia, in order to discover the truth behind her mother's death and the origins of "gift".
But while trying to uncover the secrets in her past, Corine and Chance find that something is rotten in the state of Georgia. Inside Kilmer's borders there are signs of a dark curse affecting the town and all its residents-and it can only be satisfied with death...
Well, I am hoping to have a great reading week. And maybe finish up both of the books I have going.
So, how are you faring this week? Does it look like a good reading week?
Here's to you having a great week in words and pages.
