Oooh, I'm starving to share this delicious cover with you. Okay, food temptation to much? Well when you get to dive into this book you'll understand why. The first book was full of coffee recipes at each chapter to start out the amazing story. This book is full of cakes and delectable deserts. Mmm.
I so enjoyed being submersed in this world in the first book of Wiener Blut series, The Coffee Legacy. I felt like I was living in a fairy tale with the world weaved here and the two tales I got, as they collided together. (Curious? Good. Here's the link to my review for you to check out as well.)
I'm thrilled to say we have a cover and a release time frame for the second book!
Danube Waves
Wiener Blut #2
By: Katharina Bordet
Due Out: Spring 2015
Description:
The portals between worlds have been shut down, leaving king-to-be Maximilian Schindler-Krug trapped in our world in the form of a goat. An impending revolution, a murderer on the loose, recurring nightmares and a mad scientist stand between him and the throne. It’s going to take more than a talking swan, a fainting goat and copious amounts of coffee and cake to save the day.
Ten years since the murder of his mother, Maximilian Schindler-Krug is having increasingly vivid dreams about the night that changed his life forever, but that is the least of his problems. His coronation as King of Neu Meidling is approaching fast, but revolution across the kingdom threatens his family, while the closing of portals between the worlds has split up others.
Karin’s peaceful life at the Alt Wien is turned upside-down when her daughter brings home a wounded swan, which leads her to discover a lost family secret that will change her life forever. Her own husband’s place in events could rip their relationship apart.
Lily, a trainee Beschützer finds herself trapped in another world, torn between her duty to protect the royal Wächter line and coffee trade and her love for her future king. When she meets a man and his goat who provide unexpected solutions, she has to make a choice that could topple the monarchy, assuming she can get the young king back home alive.
“Danube Waves” takes us back to the linked worlds of the Wiener Blut universe first introduced in “The Coffee Legacy”, revisiting beloved characters and introducing new ones, not to mention tickling the tastebuds with a range of traditional Austrian cakes.
Oh my! I really can't wait to get back into the world with the magical creation Katharina has here. That cake looks delicious! And the knife! Oh there is trouble brewing. I'm curious to see how Maximilian has grown up too.

About Katharina:
Katharina Bordet lives in Vienna (Wien), Austria with her husband. She works as a lawyer and is currently working towards her doctorate, yet still manages to find time for writing fiction, taking photographs and recording podcasts. These interests all come together in the regular podcast "Every Photo Tells..." where her photographs inspire short stories by herself and many other writers, with well over 100 episodes produced to date. When it came time to record a podcast version of The Coffee Legacy (aka. Wiener Blut 1), her standing within the podcast community resulted in a who's who of audio fiction appearing in roles within the full cast audio production.
Besides writing fiction, Katharina also published some non-fiction with her husband Mick. They wrote a Christmas market guide book full of photos, reviews and tips in English and German, titled "Christmas Markets in Vienna" — "Weihnachtsmärkte in Wien". It is available at Amazon, the iBooks Store and other eBook seller.

ReplyDeleteCarole Rae, the cake is a center of the chapter headings in this book, instead of coffee it's cake (and ooooh so delicious cakes!). And in the chapters cakes are mentioned. And the title is the river of the area, which has a huge play in the story. :)
DeleteHope you get to check it out!
it's rare to have a cover like that. Thanks for sharing!
