HE IS A LETHAL WEAPON…
One of an army of human soldiers injected with alien DNA, Michael is a legend within this new race, split between good and evil. Untamable, he has walked on the dark side and returned to the light. Feared and misunderstood, he leaves everything behind, including the one woman destined to be his mate.
HE IS HER ENEMY…AND HER DESTINY…
Fate leads Michael back to Cassandra Powell, for she holds the key to defending his comrades. With their loyalties divided between duty and the people they love, only together can Cassandra and Michael overcome insurmountable odds to save humanity from the wrath of a madman.
But no ordinary woman can control a creature such as Michael, and only one thing is clear—the world will never be the same…
Purchased:
Yes I know. I'm on a book buying hiatus. But when Borders sends out thouse 50% off coupons... Do you think I'm crazy to pass on that? Well. I didn't. That shows how addicted I am. But I also ordered a book with this coupon, but it didn't come yet. So that will show up next week. :)
Goodreads Synopsis:
In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue—Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is—she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.
During the highly competitive initiation that follows, Beatrice renames herself Tris and struggles to determine who her friends really are—and where, exactly, a romance with a sometimes fascinating, sometimes infuriating boy fits into the life she's chosen. But Tris also has a secret, one she's kept hidden from everyone because she's been warned it can mean death. And as she discovers a growing conflict that threatens to unravel her seemingly perfect society, she also learns that her secret might help her save those she loves . . . or it might destroy her.
So, I have a great week planned in books. I'm looking to finish Thief and start Iron Daughter. And maybe sneak another book in here too. :)
How are you looking so far this week? Does it look like a good reading week for you?
Here's to wishing you all the best in words and pages.

WOO HOO DIVERGENT! Omg, I can't wait for you to read this book! Also, I'm just about to review Iron Daughter myself!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a good Memorial Day weekend! :)
Divirgent looks really good. Have a great wekk and I'll hopefully talk to you soon.
ReplyDeleteLol, sometimes a hiatus is just mean to be broken. It's destiny ;)
ReplyDeleteI recently got Divergent myself. I don't know when I'll get to it though, maybe in a couple of weeks, but I doubt it.
ReplyDeleteOh I need to get Divergent!
ReplyDeleteLisa @Read.Breathe.Relax - lol. I don't know when I'll be able to get to Divergent, but at least I'll have it here to read when I'm ready for it. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteRyan - It seems everyone is really raving about Divergent. It sounds really good but I might wait a little before starting it. Hope to talk soon! Take care.
Blodeuedd - lol. I seem to break my hiatus all the time. And it's Borders fall for these darn amazing coupons! lol.
Bastard - Hi! Thank you for stopping by. I'm not sure when I'll get to Divergent myself. But at least I'll have it here on the shelf when I'm ready. And the other book on its way to me is Kelly Keaton's book. But it ended up about 4 states away some how in the mail. But I'm hoping it will be delivered this week. And another book I want to read, but not sure when time will allow.
Melissa (Books&Things) - From what I'm hearing of Divergent it sounds like great writing and story. :) If you get it I'm curious to see what you think of it. :)
You did have a big week! I got some great books but only read one. I need to get going or my TBR will be the death of me!
ReplyDeleteI thought Darkness Becomes Her was a fairly weak book. Maybe you'll have better luck with it, it did have its fun moments. Series should get better though.
ReplyDeleteStephanieD - Oh, those TBR piles have harsher barks than they do bite. ;) Hope you have a great week.
ReplyDeleteBastard - Hmm, sounds like Darkness Becomes Her might be just that a beginning book, one to set up the series in characters and world. I'm curious about it. Thank you.
