Sunday Post #20

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share new about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

~~~~~~~~~~
So, I went "dark" on the blog last week hoping to get much accomplished.  The verdict...I could use a few more weeks. *sigh*  But, I'm not.  I'm just going to suck it up and move forward.  I have to much planned here for you all to wallow around much longer.
So, on with the show I say!
Also, I'm doing Camp NaNoWriMo this month.  But I only set the goal at 10k words, and there is many re-writes that need to get done at the same time.
Into Darkness by S.A. Archer & S. Ravynheart
Vengeance Borne by Amanda Bonilla
Goodreads Synopsis:
Fated to Hunt…
As the local hunter, and a ward of the Sentry, a secret organization dedicated to eradicating the forces of evil, Jacquelyn has been protecting the small town of McCall, Idaho for the past five years. The hours are horrible, the pay is nonexistent, she has to work with her jealous ex-boyfriend – and forget about quitting. She’s in for life.
Destined to See…
When a rugged drifter comes through town, Jacquelyn immediately knows what he is – an Empath who can read emotions and sense what others are thinking – even though it’s clear the handsome stranger has no idea what, or how powerful, he is…
A Town in Peril…
When people in McCall start turning up dead, viciously ripped to shreds as if by a wild animal, Jacquelyn knows better. Furies are loose in Idaho and hell-bent on exacting revenge. But against whom? And for what purpose? Jacquelyn has until the full moon to stop the Furies’ killing spree and save the people of McCall, figure out how to work with her ex – oh, and there’s a handsome stranger in town who’s in desperate need of some schooling…
Purchased/Winnings:
Ice Forged by Gail Z. Martin
Goodreads Synopsis:
Condemned as a murderer for killing the man who dishonored his sister, Blaine "Mick" McFadden has spent the last six years in Velant, a penal colony in the frigid northern wastelands of Edgeland. Harsh military discipline and the oppressive magic of the governor's mages keep a fragile peace as colonists struggle against a hostile environment. But the supply ships from Dondareth have stopped coming, boding ill for the kingdom that banished the colonists.
Now, McFadden and the people of Velant decide their fate. They can remain in their icy prison, removed from the devastation of the outside world, but facing a subsistence-level existence, or they can return to the ruins of the kingdom that they once called home. Either way, destruction lies ahead...
Dark Time by Dakota Banks
Goodreads Synopsis:
Three hundred years ago, she sold her soul to a demon. Now she wants it back.
For centuries, the woman calling herself Maliha Crayne has lived a second life - as an assassin for the malevolent creature who owns her soul. A haunted killer with the blood of countless victims on her hands, she has finally discovered a way to nullify the demonic pact that chains her: If she saves a life for every one she has taken, she will be free.
But if she fails, her punishments will be unspeakable, unendurable . . . and neverending.
Deliverance by Dakota Banks
Goodreads Synopsis:
Kill . . . or be damned.
A demon's assassin for centuries, Maliha Crayne has gone rogue, determined to save a life for every one she's destroyed in order to free herself from an eternity of enslavement, damnation, and excruciating torment. But as the powers that sustained her in the past fade, she is wary of trusting those closest to her—especially her lover, Jake. And her closest friends are beginning to disappear, one by one. Amid her anger, suspicion, and sorrow, her life is spiraling out of control.
Worse still, a beautiful Renaissance murderess is recruiting Maliha as her new assassin. Maliha is turning into a lethal puppet with an evil Immortal pulling the strings, forced to kill innocents or see her missing friends die horribly. Suddenly trapped in a moral no-man's-land, Maliha is damned if she does and damned if she doesn't . . . and time is rapidly running out.
  1. No shame if you do need to take more time off the blog, after all. Heck, I took 3 months off, and I think it was one of the best things I could have done (though the backlog of reviews that need to be written is a little daunting at times). :)
  12. Don't stress if you miss a day or two here and there. Take care of you first and rest up if you need. We'll be here when you get back. :) I get that you'd miss the interaction, but remember, blogging should be fun-not stressful and overwhelming. (I have to remind myself of that all the time!)
    Happy reading and I hope you have a fun, relaxing week on the blog and in life!
