Monday's Beginnings (91)

Well, it's Monday!

How are you faring at the beginning of this week?  Are you starting a new book of finishing one up?

Well, it's been one of those weekends around here.  And it started on Thursday, okay more like Wednesday night.  My husband took Wednesday off work to try to get some cleaning up of mud for building of our deck.  Thursday was school picnic day so we were at the amusement park until close. :) That was fun I have to say.  But I took Friday off work as well to play catch up as I knew I would be exhausted from walking on that cement all day and riding rides.  But, I ended up helping my husband work on the deck!  Yep, he had me laboring!  Then, Saturday as a few friends came over to help him I did the yard work since we where behind with him working on the deck.  Sunday I did find I had a little time to read and get online some in the evening, after I visited with my father and did the grocery store thing.  It was a full weekend for sure!

I'm really hoping to get loads of stuff going!  And reading too!

Currently Reading:
Immortalis Carpe Noctem by Katie Salidas ~ I just started this one last night and only 25 pages in.

I'm still on the book buying hiatus! Well, at least I'm trying to be on a book buying hiatus.  It's kind of not working so well.  Okay so this week coming I've kind of blown the buying hiatus thing.  If only Borders and everyone would stop making it so hard for me! ;D

So, I have a few plans this week... the giveaways and to try to get some reading in.

How are you looking so far this week?  Does it look like a good reading week for you?

Here's to wishing you all the best in words and pages.

  2. Wow, Chicky Poo! You certainly were busy! I'm glad you found some time to read!

I want that Mythology book! It looks awesome and I'd love to hear all about it! Post some interesting tidbits when you can?

What amusement park did you go to? I live in the boonies so the nearest park is 5-6 hours away :( We still go to Cedar Pointe every summer (well, we missed last summer) but that's a bit further away.
Sounds like you had a lot of fun! Did you do any scary rides?

How soon til that deck is done? Soon, I hope!

Okay, nuff questions for now :o] Hugs my friend!

  4. Darkangel_1988 - Hi! Thank you for stopping by. I'm not far into Carpe Noctem yet, but it is easy to read and quick I just haven't fallen into the world and characters completely yet. But, not bad.

Kristi The Book Faery - Hi hon! Oh, I love questions! :) I'll have to see about sharing some small pieces of the Mythology book. I really didn't even think about sharing from it, but that is a cool idea. :) We went to Kennywood, in Pittsburgh, PA. But I went to Cedar Point years ago and remember really enjoying it. :) I'm more of a rollar coaster girl myself. So I went on all the rollar coasters and they added a new one this year that goes 0 to 50 in a few seconds. And it cork screws and drops like straight down. :) It was fun though. lol. And the deck... well its been two weekends of work so far. I'm hoping my husband can find a few helpers this weekend (even though holiday) to finish it off. But it seems to take so long to get it to go together. And it is big. It's two tiered first deck out the back door is 36 feet long and 16 feet out. The second tier has stairs coming up through it but it will be a total of 36 feet long and 12 feet out (including steps). Yeah, I had to go big. :) But, it will be here forever and we don't have to redo it later. lol. Thank you for asking! I probably told you more than you were wanting to know.

Melissa (Books&Things) - Yeah! I was exhausted! lol. Saturday I ended up sneaking a nap in but I couldn't believe it. I was hoping to get some relaxing in. Maybe this weekend for Memorial Day I can get some quality reading time in.

  6. That mythology book looks great. I have Edith Hamilton's book & Bulfinch's mythology, but there is something about having images accompany the info to make it that much more interesting. Hope you enjoy! I <3 mythology :-)

I've making an unprecedented attempt at 6 books at one time. Not sure how that will work, but we'll see...

  7. Oh, I love the sound of your deck, it's going to be gorgeous!
We did the same, our deck is actually a second story deck because we have a walk-out basement. I always wanted a 'wrap around deck/porch' and that's what I got (partially). Underneath is a large patio. It worked out perfectly! If you can, go for what you really want or you'll always feel disappointed.

I love roller coasters! There's nothing like that feeling of weightlessness just as you're starting down the big hill or your butt's not touching the seat, LOL! I like the twirly ones, too. The big scary ones that make my hubby hurl! I haven't been able to go on any rides since I've been sick but soon, I hope!

Sounds like everything's going great and even though your weekend was busy, it was productive and fun!
I couldn't wish more for you!

    Hugs!

  10. Stephanie D - Oh no worries on reading one book. :) I don't always get through a book a week, but I seem to be on a streak with the books I've read lately, so I don't want to stop lol. And the work, well, it's just all got to get done some how and some time. :)

Jackie - Oh, I've seemed to be atracted to the mythology books lately. I just hope to get to reading some of them some time. :) And the prices on the sale racks, just can't pass them up! lol And 6 books! Wow! I don't think I could juggle that many books at once. Good luck to you!

Kristi The Book Faery - Oh sounds like you have a wonderful deck as well! That was what we were going to do if we built in our original spot, deck over the cement slab as it would be a second story one. But things happen. lol. Yes the roller coasters are always fun when you feel like you are flying! :) Hopefully you get better soon so you can go on som roller coasters. :) And thank you! Hugs!

Petty Witter - Kathy Reichs... I have to look that author up. Sorry you're not all that impressed so far. Maybe it will pick up or another book will be better. :) Have a great week.

Blodeuedd - :) Thank yoU! Have a great week!
