Shifters in the Night by Molly Harper
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Mystic Bayou is growing! And they need to add some new buildings such as apartment buildings for those arriving to town. Lia is here with the company she works for to help with that.
I love how the story starts with Lia running freely through the woods, relaxing and enjoying the fresh air. And how she accidently meets Jon. lol.
I'll say, I love how the men in these books are respectful of the woman being their own strong selves. But that the men love these woman for WHO they are and not just body parts.
Lia's work environment slowly turns into something that's not as comfortable as it once was. And her boss.... I know she says this is out of norm for him, but I don't know how she's worked for him for so long. Wow. But with this, Lia finds there's more trouble here than she expected.
I love how Lia, who's been focused on her work finds something in Mystic Bayou. She finds friends that she's never really had. She also finds love. I know it sounds like another hard working woman finds what she didn't know she wanted. But there's a nice flow to Lia's story in how she really does find a home instead of constantly moving.
And as for Jon. I love how he's starting to come out of his shell and be around people again. Having Will return in the last full book has helped Jon with this, but he's starting to make the steps and grow. And finding Lia is something he'll have to work towards thinking he is worthy after so long alone.
Another sweet story with great friends.
