Sunday Post #94

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share new about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My reading time has been cut back. So, I'm hooked on audio books while at work. I had to try the ebook purchasing with discounted Audible book on Amazon. And I'm pleased!! I wrote up a post about how easy it is and neat it is. Check it out if you'd like.
But now I think I need to do a post on how I got into Audiobooks as I've been known to have troubles with them in the past. My easy conversion to listening to books... That sounds like a great post idea. :) I'll have to work on it.
I've been working on content editing work in the evenings along with life and the day job, time has been limited a bit for reading and writing. I'm hoping to get a week of good writing in here this week. :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The Fit Booker:

Goal:  Workout in any form of exercise (or on Wii Fit) 2x's a week. (to feel better and hope to drop a few pants sizes)

How did I do last week... I did get to exercise this week. And not just one day!
   Sunday:  walk/jog on the tread mill for 41 minutes and did about 2.65 miles.
   Tuesday:  walk/jog on tread mill for 40 minutes and did about 2.55 miles
   Thursday:  Cut the grass for 1 hour 20 minutes (I think I'm getting faster)

Episode 3:
This is a slower episode, or so I think. I basically get a quick tour of the land around Abel Township. There is a supply drop stuck in the trees that I go for, and of course there are zombies around. My partner runner this week helps cover me for getting the supplies. Then I see where other communities are, or were. There's one that's burned down now. It's kind of suspicious like my fellow runner mentions.... Hmmm...

Goodreads Synopsis:
Aidan Montgomery hadn’t been prepared for Amelia Bradbury to walk in and then out of his life. He also hadn’t expected to find the powerful magic hidden deep within him for the last nineteen years, but he’s embracing it — finding more control and more answers every day. Now, with the help of Amelia’s best friend, Bethany, Aidan is on a quest to understand his destiny and find Amelia.

Amelia decided to stand by her duty, which meant walking away from her first chance at love. Trapped in Cresthaven at the Queen’s mercy, she spends her days with Micah — an ally she still holds at arm’s length — struggling to manage her heartbreak while keeping her mind focused on the task at hand. As she continues to unlock the secrets of the Keeper power, Queen Julia’s true motives reveal themselves, forcing Amelia to decide, yet again, how much she’s willing to sacrifice.

Will Aidan get to Amelia before it's too late, or will the very power that sustains them keep them apart?

A Heart of Ice by Hailey Edwards

Goodreads Synopsis:
**Originally Released As Part Of The Love Is... Charity Anthology**

**This Is A Short Story Prequel To The Araneae Nation Series**

Reine knows marriage isn’t about love. It’s about making the best bargain you can with what you have and then living with the consequences. Wedding vows are alliances given voice, and I do is on the tip of her tongue.

Ennis is a man on a mission to woo the future Araneidae maven, whether she wants him or not. Her clan is wealthy, prosperous and in dire need of the one thing his people have to offer—protection. But one look at her and all thought of his obligations vanish. He’ll court Reine, but he wants the feisty heiress all to himself.

Forced to entertain offers from her bevy of suitors, Reine is torn between duty to her people and loyalty to herself. Ennis is the man she wants, but is he the future paladin her fragile clan needs? She can choose to lead with her head or, for once, she can follow her heart.

A Kiss of Venom by Hailey Edwards

Goodreads Synopsis:
All’s fair in love and murder…

Araneae Nation, Book 3.5

Betrayed by her lover and exiled from her clan home, Nicolette has carved herself a new identity from the heart of her old life. Hardened by grief and desperate to survive, she hones a new skill set…and the daggers that go along with it.

Armand is heir to the wealthiest clan in the Araneae Nation. His entire life is as mapped as his heritage. Tradition dictates his every decision, and the one choice he ever made for himself cost him the woman he loved.

When Nicolette is offered a contract she can’t refuse, she returns to Erania with deadly intentions. Her secrets are safe behind the façade she created. Or they would be if Armand would stop chipping at the cracks in her veneer.

One kiss ignites an old flame, and suddenly their history is in danger of repeating. Armand falls for Nicolette’s charade, but she can’t let a second chance at happiness distract her from her mission. Someone in the Araneidae nest is marked for death, and Nicolette aims to deliver.

Warning: This story contains one heroine bent on revenge and one hero determined to atone for his sins. Also included are venom kisses, poison hangovers, pointy objects and questionable taste in condiments. Expect fireworks, near-death experiences and one surprise ten years in the making.

An American Werewolf In Hoboken by Dakota Cassidy
PICK UP AT AMAZON
Goodreads Synopsis:
Re-Release

Hilariously funny, An American Werewolf In Hoboken takes you on a laugh-out-loud roller-coaster ride from beginning to end as Max Adams, one strong alpha male, finds himself at the mercy of a woman who thinks he's a big, fluffy dog. Dakota Cassidy takes you on an erotic journey as Max seduces his mate, who just happens to be his human owner, at least according to the local dog pound. Dog by day, man by night, things can't get any more complicated...or can they? An American Werewolf In Hoboken is Book 1 in Dakota Cassidy's Wolf Mates series. This is one romantic comedy you don't want to miss.

Wooing a life mate can be hard enough for a wolf, wooing one while under the threat of a curse even more so.

Wooing a mate while pretending to be her dog? Nearly impossible.

After being drugged and captured by Animal Control, Max Adams is on Hoboken's doggie death row when his life mate adopts him, takes him home, and promptly names him Fluffy. While JC, in all her new-pet-owner-ness, feeds "Fluffy" vile kibble, dresses him in mortifying dog couture, and schedules to have his manhood removed, Max's human side gets to know JC. Especially in the biblical sense.

Hopefully well enough to make her fall madly in love, mate with him under the full moon, and move with him to Cedar Glen to live happily-ever-after forever and ever amen. And fast. Because the curse comes with a deadline...and the clock is ticking.

Content Notes: Paranormal, Contemporary, Romantic Comedy, Humorous, Shifter, Werewolf, Wolf Mates Series

Previously Published (2014) Dakota Cassidy, (2006) Changeling Press

To my readers: This book, originally published in 2006. It has been updated, revised, expanded, and in general, beaten into a whole new submission. I hope you'll enjoy the new, expanded version of this series.

  1. I have become an audio addict as well, I listen to books everyday, and of course read them too, but find I can squeeze audios in while doing mundane chores.

    1. Kimba, that's just it. I can get through audio books while at work where I can't read. So it's a win win thing! :D

  6. The only audiobooks I have are Stephen Fry's Harry Potter books and I love them! There are others I might be interested in but I'm not spending a pile of money on them to find out I hate the narration!

    1. Chucklesthescot. I put a lot of research into audiobooks before I get them. But the cool thing now is Amazon has a deal with Audible that if you by the ebook, you can get the audible version for $1.99. I don't think all books are doing it, but it's something to think about. $7 verses $20. I already did it and am very happy.
