Sunday Post #123

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share new about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Another week has passed and I'm still no further ahead.
I'm sorry I haven't been visiting anyone. It's weighing heavy on my mind. That's how blogging works and if I can't do my half, well I feel as I should stop posting for a while.
Life has really kicked us in the arse this time.
Kiddo's surgery went rather well. The doctor noticed that his hamstring was spasming after surgery and couldn't get it absolutely straight in the brace. (He had noted the same thing after surgery 2.) He thinks part of his problem might be his hamstring. It all works together and a catch 22 if you can't do either on. You need the hamstring to relax and stretch to get your knee straight, you need your knee straight to stretch the hamstring. Vicious circle! So, we are now going to see a neurologist to see about a botox shot to help relax the hamstring so he can get his knee straight to prevent any more scar tissue build up.
It just never stops.
We are still strong on therapy and he's doing well with getting straight, but we will take all the help we can get.
I'm going to try my hardest to get on and visit a few friends here in the blogging world this week. Even if it's only 2 days, I'm going to do it.
The Fit Booker:
Goal:  Workout in any form of exercise (or on Wii Fit) 2x's a week. (to feel better and hope to drop a few pants sizes)
How did I do last week... I only got to the gym 2 days last week with all going on with kiddo, Sunday and Tuesday.
If she can’t find a way to overcome the occult infection spreading through her veins, they may not have to.
And in the shadows, the Owl prepares to wage bloody war against the most dangerous foe of all -- her own coven -- as she leads her disciples in a quest to recover a deadly relic. It's a showdown that will end where it all began: in the frozen hell of Winter's Reach, under a rain of fire.
Siren's Kiss by Margo Bond Collins
PICK UP AT AMAZON
Goodreads Synopsis:
Her kiss might save the world . . .
Unless his kiss kills her first.
It's been almost two thousand years since the mer-shifter Skyla walked the streets of Athens—not since her heart was broken by a human man and she exchanged the land and sky for the ocean depths. Ever since, she has lived in the underwater ruins of Atlantis, studying with the priestesses of the goddess Amphitrite, refining her mermaid powers and ignoring her human half.
But her studies are interrupted when she is called upon by the god Poseidon himself to investigate rumors that the world above is being polluted by the magic of creatures from another realm—and worse, that the ocean kingdom of the mer-people might be next.
When her inquiries in modern-day Greece lead her to an American detective asking similar questions, Skyla realizes that the magical problem she's been sent to research is bigger than she anticipated—and that one human's kisses might be more dangerous to her, and her world, than she ever could have imagined.
