Resident Evil
Rated: R
Quick Thoughts:
This is the first movie where we go into the hive unknowing what waits for us, and why. In the end we learn of the zombies created by virus. And in the end, well, you know what happens...you have to watch the next movie.
This was rather slow for me to begin with. I liked the way it unfolded for the Alice and for her to learn what happens. Then she kicks arse when the zombies attack.
Of course in the end I'm curious to see what happens in the next movie. The kid likes these movies, and the husband didn't say much (I think he's on the wall with me). But this is only the first movie, building for more to come, which I felt with other characters disappearing.
I'll admit, I'm not much of a zombie person. But I might have to watch the second movie. This one was just the beginning, setting the stage for whats to come. What do you think? Worth watching the next one?

Quick Thoughts:
Three teenage boys manifest excelled mental powers of levity, and learn to do many things with it, but life gets confused along the way.
This was a movie the kid wanted to watch, and didn't end up watching with us. It starts Rather slow. Rather. We learn that one boy is from a difficult home; the father is abusive toward him and his mother is dying and they can't afford the medicine she needs. Then we get to know who the other boys are as well. But the main character, Andrew, as he purchases a movie camera and starts videoing everything. The film seems to be from Andrews camera, so gives crooked clips and jerky movements. Not really what I like to watch.
My husband agreed with me completely, a really slow movie. Even the plot was slow growing. There was only one great scene at the end of the movie and that was about it for me. Not a movie for me.
