This book felt very heavy in character and character relationship building, with weaved in fantasy elements.
I found the first half or more of the book to be very slow building for me. We're learning the world with Odessa as she tries to get to know her new husband and people.
There were a few things I figured early on, about the Guardian and things. Though, the problem with the Guardian and what we see happening with the animals, this is what I wanted to learn more about. As does Odessa when she finally learns of it too.
If you like books that are character driven and building relationships and love, this is a story for you.
Now the ending. Wow. I really liked the things we find out. And I'm left curious as to what it means...All we've learned of the world and what's happening to the animals... Then who's that person? Why are the Crux here early?
I have my suspicions and look forward to seeing how it's connected.

OOh nice! I enjoyed this one too despite the beginning being a little slow. I guessed certain things as well pretty early on too. Lol. Glad you liked this one for the most part! I can't wait for the sequel either! Nice review!
ReplyDeleteHey! How have you been? Yes, it was a nice start to the series though. I'm hoping the next book will pick up in speed now that we have the groundwork down. Looking forward to it!
