Temple of Sorrow by Carrie Summers
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I listened to the audiobook version. I found in the prologue that I loved listening to Annie narrate! I love her enthusiasm in narration and voicing the female characters. And, nice to hear another voice for the male characters.
I really enjoyed this story. A female gamer and she wants to do more than slash and kill. (A girl after my own heart!) Great! I want to see more in a world like here. And there's more with the tech. There's something going on with the creation...and only a few people are seeing it or believing it's happening. There's two sides, and we get small glimpses of the other side's character. I love all that Devon's creating, but I worry about it in the future.
I'm interested and looking forward to the next book and series.
I love how things have become like "real" to Devon, the character, and even me. I had a few good chuckles at the events, like the tattoo billboard and type of tatts displaying. lol.
So much fun and one that's on my radar now.

Audio Book Review: Shadow City by Anna Mocikat
Shadow City by Anna Mocikat
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Anna has created a post apocalyptic world here, full of vampires, danger, cyborgs, humans, angels, and demons.
All are interesting along with the friction that exists with the different beliefs from all in the world. And then there's the growing danger of the demons and their portal. We get just the tip of the iceberg on all the different beliefs and history here.
In the beginning I struggled with the perception of the characters. I wasn't sure who was seeing what was happening. As the story went on, I fell into the feel of the book and characters.
Anna writes this full world in the way of fantasy, with lots of great details. The view of the world and how people live is a big part of what's happening here.

Audio Book Review: Skinwalker by Faith Hunter (Jane Yellowrock #1)
Skinwalker by Faith Hunter
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I've always wondered what this series was like after hearing all the love for it. In just one book, I can see what all the praise is about. It lives up to the hype.
I loved meeting Jane and learning about what she can do. And what she is and how she became this way. I know there's more to her story, but what I learned in this first book was great. I love that I got some of that history in book one, and it hints to so much more with her.
The writing had me glued to the story. I enjoyed the investigation as Jane does it, in cat form. Jane is a strong character and I enjoy seeing her strong and ready to go on her own. But there's a soft side to her as well and we see that with her friend and her friends kid.
Great paranormal world here as we get a glimpse to what all is present. I will be continuing with this series!
