Sunday Post #60

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share new about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

~~~~~~~~~~
Hey. Another Sunday. I don't know what's come over me. I slept most of the day Saturday. I seem to be worn out by the weekend and have one day that is all about trying to catch up on sleep. I think I need to get more active to help counter that, time to try and sneak exercise in my schedule too. Hahaha. Alright, but seriously I do.
As for the book front, it's been slow going here. I get to read a few pages a night but nothing that really makes a dent in my current read. And it's nothing to the current reads fault, it's me and my relationship with time these days. (It's a little on the strained side.)
I decided when I'll be celebrating the blogs 5th birthday. :) It's going to be the week of August 11th. A little after it's birthday, but when time will allow it party it up. So I'll start sending a few authors emails to see if they would like do join with a post. I also have a few books to give away. :) And I'm still working on the small book tour for RIVER by Skyla Dawn Cameron. If you'd like to join (it's only guest posts by her) please let me know and I'll add you to the list that I'll be emailing shortly.
For Review Consideration:
Purchased/Winnings/Gifts:
Deadroads by Robin Riopelle
Goodreads Synopsis:
Lutie always wanted a pet ghost—but the devil’s in the details.
The Sarrazins have always stood apart from the rest of their Bayou-born neighbors. Almost as far as they prefer to stand from each other. Blessed—or cursed—with the uncanny ability to see beyond the spectral plane, Aurie has raised his children, Sol, Baz, and Lutie, in the tradition of the traiteur, finding wayward spirits and using his special gift to release them along Deadroads into the afterworld. The family, however, fractured by their clashing egos, drifted apart, scattered high and low across the continent.
But tragedy serves to bring them together. When Aurie, while investigating a series of ghastly (and ghostly) murders, is himself killed by a devil, Sol, EMT by day and traiteur by night, Baz, a traveling musician with a truly spiritual voice, and Lutie, combating her eerie visions with antipsychotics, are thrown headlong into a world of gory sprites, brilliant angels, and nefarious demons—small potatoes compared to reconciling their familial differences.
From the Louisiana swamps to the snowfields of the north and everywhere in between, Deadroads summons you onto a mysterious trail of paranormal proportions.
Free Ebooks:
Aurora Sky: Vampire Hunter By Nikki Jefford
Goodreads Synopsis:
If there is one thing eighteen-year-old Aurora Sky wants, it's to get off the iceberg she calls home. Being kissed before she graduates wouldn't hurt either.
Then a near-fatal car wreck changes everything. Government agents step in and save Aurora's life in exchange for her services as a vampire hunter. In Alaska. Basically she's a glorified chew toy. All thanks to her rare blood type, which sends a vampire into temporary paralysis right before she has to finish the job... by hand.
Now Aurora's only friends are groupies of the undead and the only boy she can think about may very well be a vampire.
(Mature YA, new adult series that becomes progressively more mature. Underage drinking, sexual situations, mild language and blood sucking.)
Free Audio Books/Stories:
Whispers in the Wood by Chris Lester
Goodreads Synopsis:
A man comes to Metamor City bearing a mysterious instrument, a violin with seemingly supernatural powers. A trail of death follows him. Lothanasi Agent Janus Starson brings in his best paranormal investigator, the telepath Abbey Preston, to help him uncover the violin’s secrets — and stop it before it kills again. A dark tale of mystery and murder in the sci-fi/fantasy world of Metamor City.
    1. Hi Fiza Halliwell. Oh yes. And I'll be doing a segment of questions about Podcasts and Audiobooks on Tuesday's for the next 4-5 weeks. I'd love to have you stop by and answer the poll questions. It'll help with the discussion I'm hoping to end with that will explain podcasts in relation to audiobooks. :)
