Freebies and Deals, on Nook too (32)

We have Barnes & Nobles Freebie Friday, as always.

Deals:
The ebook edition of this first Demon Squad book has gone on sale. Dropped to $3.45 for Amazon Kindle, and $3.95 for Barnes & Nobles Nook.
Armageddon Bound (Demon Squad #1) by Tim Marquitz
Amazon ~ Kindle   /   Barnes & Nobles ~ Nook
Goodreads Synopsis:
Half-devil and miles from anything resembling heroic, perpetual underdog Frank “Triggaltheron” Trigg is the last man standing against Armageddon.

The favorite nephew of the Devil, Frank has led a troubled life, but he’d always had his uncle’s influence to fall back on. Now, with God and Lucifer coming to terms and leaving existence to fend for itself, his once exalted status of Anti-Christ-to-be does little to endear him to the hordes of angels and demons running amok in the Godless world.

With help from the members of DRAC, an organization of empowered humans and low-end supernatural beings, Frank must thwart the pro-Armageddon forces and rescue an angel in whose life rests the fate of humanity.

Better luck next time, humanity.

I did find a few freebies I picked up this week, and thought to share with you.  I'm not sure how good they are, as I've only heard good things of Dirty Blood, but they do sound good.  I think I found both of these under Young Adult books.
Dirty Blood (Dirty Blood #1) by Heather Hildenbrand
Amazon ~ Kindle   /   Barnes & Nobles ~ Nook
Goodreads Synopsis:
I killed a girl last night. I did it with my bare hands and an old piece of pipe I found lying next to the dumpster. But that’s not the part that got me. The part that scared me, the part I can’t seem to wrap my head around and still has me reeling, was that when she charged me, her body shifted – and then she was a wolf. All snapping teeth and extended claws. But by the time I stood over her lifeless body, she was a girl again. That’s about the time I went into shock… And that was the moment he showed up.

Now, all I can do is accept the truths that are staring me in the face. One, Werewolves do exist. And Two, I was born to kill them.

Darkness Falls (Darkness Falls #1) by Jessica Sorensen
Amazon ~ Kindle   /   Barnes & Nobles ~ Nook
Goodreads Synopsis:
When the disease spread through the world, people had no choice but to go into hiding. The Colony is hidden deep underground, far away from the vampires—humans that were transformed by the disease. The vampires are hideous, starving, and they will kill any human they come across.
Seventeen-year-old Kayla is a Bellator, a warrior that protects The Colony. In order to survive, there are three rules she must follow:
Rule #1—Never go out after dark.
Rule #2—Always carry a weapon.
Rule #3—No matter what, never EVER get bitten.
But what happens when the rules Kayla has always lived by can no longer apply?
The Highers run The Colony and accept nothing less than perfection. One slip up can mean death. Kayla has always worked hard to follow the rules and strive for perfection. But during a moment of weakness, she lets her imperfections show. Her punishment is worse than death. She is chosen for The Gathering and is thrown out into a world full of starving vampires.
No one has ever survived The Gathering, at least that’s what Kayla’s been told. But when she runs into a group who insist they were once part of The Gathering, Kayla discovers the Highers have been keeping secrets. Secrets that could lead to a cure.

Did you have any great finds this week?  Let us know in the comments. :)
